    * Come and get me (rookie version) *

Triggers: right before the draft. A rookie comes to you and says "go get me in the draft so we can wreck this league together". Must be 1-2 round talent, no less.

Possible outcomes: you actually manage to draft a guy and you are immediately given a lofty set of goals for next season. If the guy hits them, gets a dev trait increase and/or significant amount of skill points. If the goals are not hit, his dev trait drops and/or his OVR drops to a level which would make him basically useless moving on.

This of course would be a Johnny Manziel type of a scenario.

      "Not again Brett!"

Trigger: Team has a young established player (<25) or a highly drafted rookie to replace a recently retired iconic player headed into the preseason.

Choices: During preseason, retired player states he wants to play again. Team must chose to welcome retired player back or trade the player.

Effects: Bringing player back would stunt the development of younger replacement with a decrease in the DEV trait. GM mode would allow for fan benefits with increased sales and GM support. Trading the player could result in a DEV trait increase and XP dump. This would negatively impact the GM approval/expectations and team financials.

Sure my idea is understandable without a clear and concise presentation of the details. Thanks Deuce!

The team would get a boost of morale or a similar bonus.

The point being a great opportunity to bring real life illnesses, tragedies and so forth into a game and along with a gameplay boost maybe some of the users will become a little more aware of a real-life issue in which they may be influenced to research and get involved with helping.

Undrafted Rookie Wants to Prove Himself

Trigger: This scenario occurs in the pre-season. If you sign an undrafted free-agent at a position graded C+ or lower.

Choices: The rookie asks you for a chance to prove he can make an immediate impact in the league and be a starter on this team. He requests to be made first string for the duration of the pre-season to give him the opportunity to stand out. If you agree he is set a rather difficult target to achieve based around the type of player

Effects: There are 3 ways this scenario can go:
You say no to the request: The player loses a decent amount of morale.

You say yes, but the player fails to meet the target: The player has a massive morale drop

You say yes, and the player meets the target: The player receives a decent XP boost and large morale boost

Re: Create Your Own Scenario [Scenario Suggestions]

One thing which almost all scenarios suggested in this thread (and probably most of those that already are or will be added in the game) have in common is that they heavily rely on morale. Which probably leads to morale being another (potentially huge) modificator which could have a big impact on gameplay, in addition to ratings, traits, superstar abilities and X-factors. One only has to hope the game handles all those well enough to not make a franchise gameplay a hot mess. Not to mention the headaches it might give the slider gurus who are trying to make the gameplay even better with their sets. Well, except for Josh, who has his own unique approach to slider set creation. [emoji1]

So, do we actually know, as of now, what impact the morale might have on franchise gameplay?

30 seconds to write a SQL query and new feature profit! I’ll take bets on someone finding a reference to confidence in the game they forgot to update to morale.

How about some crazy owner situations/events.
                - Owner meets with player behind coaches back.
                - Owner is busted doing X. Insert Y effect.
                Etc etc.

I’d also love random events like OOTP and The Show. Brady has a stomach bug today. Barkley broke leg falling down the stairs. Etc.

Re: Create Your Own Scenario [Scenario Suggestions]

                  Name: "Todd Gurley" scenario.

Overview: A good starter comes off a season ending injury or an injury that is known to have nagging effects like an ACL tear, Achilles rupture, torn rotator cuff, shoulder tear" etc and next season or the rest of the current season needs to be put on a pitch count to hopefully stay healthy.

Trigger: Scenario generates at the beginning of the season or after the injury and it's recommended you limit the players use to keep him healthy.

What Happens: Coordinator comes to you expressing concern about the lingering effects of the injury. Recommends keeping player under 15 touches a game or 30 snaps a game depending on position. Player fights back says he wants to play. Can side with coordinator or player.

Tracked: Touches or snap count throughout the season and for each game.

Outcomes: Side with coordinator - For every week that you keep a player on his snap/touch count this the player stays normal/"healthy". Obviously can still get injured based off of injury rating. However If you exceed the recommended touches the players injury and maybe toughness rating goes down by 3 points replicating the players body wearing out like with Gurleys knee this past season. Players also suffers a morale hit from the offset because he doesn't want to be on a "pitch count" but the coaches think it's in the best interest of the player.

Side with the player - Players injury and toughness rating goes down by 10 or 12 but player gets a big morale boost in that he's not being limited.

So it would essentially try to replicate a progressive wear and tear injury system following more serious injuries. This would allow the player to rely on the player in big weeks... Playoff push at the end of the season balancing how important it is to win vs the long term health of the player. Ride a guy into the playoffs and he might not be available in the playoffs or potentially miss the playoffs playing it too safe. It's up to you to balance the risk/reward. Or take the risk all season that the player stays healthy because he is that important to your team. It adds some more nuance and depth to the current injury system for more significant injuries.

Additional Notes: I know this is a little gamey in that it affects injury ratings as a result of the players choices and there may be better ways to implement this or balance the positives/negatives of your decision but I think it would added some much needed depth to the injury system rather than being so black and white.

Deuce you have fantastic ideas on all things franchise if there is anything in this scenario that you can think of a better/easier way to implement I'd welcome any feedback or recommended changes.

Hey guys, I updated the OP with a new template that came from the franchise team and is how they'd like suggested scenarios to be outlined. It has a few additional details and I'm going to go back and edit mine to match so if any of you would like to do the same, that would be great as well but not required. Like I said, the new template is in the OP but I'll post it here too and please use this moving forward. Thanks!

                    Scenario Name:

Scenario Overview: A brief description of the Scenario

Trigger Criteria: When/How/Why does this scenario begin?

What Happens?: What conversations/events occur during this scenario, and when do these events occur? What are the potential outcomes as a result of your interaction?

What Is Tracked: What kind of stats and in-game events are being tracked?

Additional Notes: Anything extra that you'd like to add outside of what was covered above.

                      PLEASE DONT HIT ME!!

Scenario > QB got injured and if you gamble by puting him back in the game to early.

The result:The paranoid QB will throw fast dinks dinks even when there is no hot pressure around him
                      ala David Carr

Solution: bench the QB for a few weeks and use a scared tactic by putting him on the trade block and his morale will change back to normal the QB will play with a chip on his shoulder for the rest of the season and balls out especially contract year

                          Scenario Name: Tired of Losing

Scenario Overview: Any Superstar or above player that has been in the league for 8-10 years and has been rarely been to the playoffs or accumulated any playoff victories.

Trigger Criteria: Established Superstar on the team that drafted him. Has been to the playoffs less than 4 times and have not won more than 2 playoff games.

What Happens?: Some instances the player just retires during preseason. The player could also give an ultimatum for the following season; "win a playoff game or I am done".

What Is Tracked: Playoff appearances and playoff victories.

What Happens: Player retires early, before major regression.

Additional Notes: If the user tried trading the player after the demand was made, the scenario would cancel for a current/previous year playoff team. If traded to a 'bad' team, the player would immediately retire, negating the trade.

                            Scenario name: Power Struggle

Scenario overview: after a dissapointing season from an X-Factor level player (statistically speaking). The said player takes a him or me approach and demands a coaching change, or demands a trade. "He goes fire so and so or trade me". To make this work on owner as well as coach mode the player could instead ask for a coaching change in owner mode or a scheme/philosophy change when playing as a coach.

Trigger criteria: end of season statistics not leading the team or being top 10 in the league for an X-factor level player.

What happens: I think overview explains it all. Say mike Evans has a year of under 1,000 years or 5 or less touchdowns (barring injury of course). He would then come out and say "the coach has to go or I want to be traded. He's not calling the right plays or running the right scheme yaddi yaddi yadda. Or when playing as a coach he demands a scheme or playbook change.

What is tracked stat wise: obviously surface tats like yards, touchdowns, or even carries for a running back if you take a committee approach

What happens: pretty self explanatory. If you choose to go with the player you fire your coach and bring someone else in thus making the player happy. If you go with the coach then your player is locked out of resigning and extension menus and promises to leave once his contract is up unless you trade him trying to recoup some value.

Additional notes: this may need to be expanded on to include superstar and quick players as well. Since coaches really don't matter and have no effect in madden I think most people would choose the x-factor player since they have an obvious on field effect. You could combat this by allowing you coach to get a huge boost, and maybe unlock a few purchasable upgrades automatically like advanced scouting, QB development boost, or master negotiation etc. this scenario could also be applied to a teammate and not a coach I.E. big been and AB

As a Raiders fan.... I seriously hope this one doesn't get included lol. In all seriousness Carr looked like a world beater before he broke his back. After that hit he has been extremely antsy and scared in the pocket. The crazy part is same exact thing happened to his brother.

Scenario Name: Can I do it without Bill?

Scenario Overview: A physically limited QB pairs up with a coach and the coach surrounds him with talent. As a result, the QB deludes people into thinking he's really good due to his stats (when he's a byproduct of the system and supporting cast) after winning a couple of titles. The scenario begins when the long time coach either retires, is fired, or takes a new job.

Trigger Criteria: A coach/QB combo must win 2 or more superbowls together on the same team. The scenario begins when the coach either retires, is fired, or takes a new job.

What Happens?: The QB's dev trait drops to normal (losing any zone/x-factor abilities) and morale plummets.

What Is Tracked: The QB has to start (and win) the Super Bowl in the next subsequent season while starting at least 14 of 16 reg season games and all playoff games.

                                What Happens:

If the QB meets the conditions and wins the Super Bowl in the first year with his new HC, he is acknowledged as one of the best QBs and is granted Superstar X-factor status.

If the QB does not win the Super Bowl, he is exposed as a fraud and suffers drops in all accuracy ratings and awareness.
