Re: Create Your Own Scenario [Scenario Suggestions]

I made a couple mock-ups to visualize how integrating authentic roster management into scenarios could look. I feel like this is what Big Decisions always should have been and I think it's a good opportunity to be able to use parts of franchise as a teaching tool to help casual and new NFL fans understand how teams manage their roster while also giving some more authenticity and depth for the hardcore/experienced users.

Re: Create Your Own Scenario [Scenario Suggestions]

I love the ideas and work here.

But man, not in the scenario engine in its current form. They have to change this thing to a more integrated and graphical approach. It’s just so Basic and boring

Clicking through multiple texts massages is just a horrible... It’s 1990s video games Oregon trail level.

They can do this way better in 21,had this type scenerios in head coach 09. The scenerios would pop up as a graphic to review that was much more interesting and connected feel, and then based on your decision, Adam Schefter would pop up and talk about what you did. It was just, well, designed as it was an important part of the game.

They have taken this “everything twitter” approach because it’s the easiest to code and to execute but it’s far far from any immersion. News is junk and doesn’t even work and that should be integrated into the engine as well.

If you sign someone to a 5th year option the scenario should kick off and someone should talk and animate about it .. not put up another text tweet.

      Just bare minimum effort here

        Deuce;

Always, great suggestions to keep the suggestion box full for CFM. I loved how you addressed it on Twitter.

Also agree that in it's current state, it's dry and boring, but text messaging is probably hitting the target audience and anything above and beyond text messaging might not be in the financial budget.

        Pure speculation on this end.

Since scenarios are one if the things EA is looking to improve next year i thought it might be a good idea to resurrect this thread so maybe they can be seen or sent to the devs.

Since Season Engine has been updated, thought this should be brought back. Interesting to see if any of these suggestions made the cut and a good place to document ideas going forward.

So many good scenarios in here. Hopefully all these don't go to waste since there's been pretty minimal updates to the scenario engine since its been added a few years ago. It needs to be more dynamic and unpredictable.

I’ll add a link to the hypothetical hold-in scenario I described in a previous thread, which would appear to use only levers and triggers already known to exist in the Scenario Engine.

I’d like to see an Anti Breakout scenario. Say for instance Wentz has had several subpar games and this scenario pops. Either he meets the scenario goals or he receives a massive ratings drop or gets benched. If he’s not benched the team takes a massive morale hit. We need more scenarios that have negative consequences if not met.

Re: Create Your Own Scenario [Scenario Suggestions]

Scenario Name: Rags to Riches (I don't know, it seems appropriate)

Scenario Overview: Unheralded, low rated free agent QB, or UDFA, has surprisingly strong camp, becomes a superstar (think Kurt Warner).

Trigger Criteria: The scenario is somewhat random, but begins in the preseason if the team has signed a low-rated QB with normal Dev, but doesn't have a Franchise QB (90 or higher) or recent high drafted QB (2nd round or higher).

What Happens?: Get a notification about media saying he's having a great camp just before week 1. Then, if he plays well in the preseason, he gets a dev increase as well as ratings increases, and you have an option to name him the starter. If he plays well in week 1 of the regular season, he gets another dev increase and ratings increase. And finally, you get one more opportunity for a dev and ratings increase at around the mid-season mark, making him Super-Star Dev.

What Is Tracked: Touchdowns and interceptions. Must throw at least two touchdowns each game the scenario pops up, with 0 interceptions, increasing each dev opportunity. So, 2 TDs/0 INTs in each preseason game for the first dev increase, then 3 TDs and 0 INT in week 1 regular season for the second dev increase, and then 4 TDs and 0 INT in week 9 for the final Dev increase.

Additional Notes: May include a press conference scene were coach is asked about it, as well as a locker room scene.
