Honestly, I find it difficult to convince myself to believe anything the Madden dev team (and really, all of EA's sports titles) puts out will do anything but disappoint. I mean, this whole post-release "new scouting system" had a built-in excuse from the moment it was announced; they literally told us that we're lucky to be getting it in Madden 22 at all. So is it any wonder why this company has no integrity when it comes to delivering on expectations and quality?

That said, I am happy that EA is at least trying to make it seem like they're devoting resources and focusing more on Franchise mode but I think we all know at this point that this dev team and their higher-ups are either too lazy, too greedy, or just don't care enough to put forward anything that isn't buggy, underdeveloped or isn't just a shallow tacked on feature that they won't bother improving upon.

I don't get posts like this. I really don't.



Clearly you hate EA. EA probably deserves it. Then why on God's green Earth did you buy the game?

I hate Activision/Blizzard. I don't care if they release a game so brilliant it would make the most hardened criminal cry like a baby in joy, I'll never purchase a game from them. Why buy if you are so 110% certain that everything and anything they make is going to be 0/10 effort drivel?

If I had to guess, people buy the game because they love football and the NFL. It's pretty hard for some people to not buy the new NFL game because they want to play the sport they love.

I would assume that A LOT of Madden sales are from people that just like the NFL.

I wonder if there is anyone out there that would buy this game if it didn't have the NFL license.

People want 2K to have it back. Considering how the NBA2K series has been circling the drain and the 2K wrestling games are some of the worst in any genre, I'm not sure it would be what people are expecting. Even once celebrated developers like CD Projekt Red have turned into trash.

I'd like to see more position focus combinations. Right now it's QB, HB/FB, WR, TE, LT/RT, LG/RG, LR/C, RG/C, LE/RE, DT, ROLB/LOLB, MLB, CB, FS/SS if I remember correctly. How about a few less conventional but still have some logic.

LT/LG
RT/RG
RE/ROLB (when you're looking for an edge rusher)
LE/DT (3-4 interior)
SS/MLB (run support specialist)

Just less conventional mixtures to add variety and strategic hiring.

Injury rating being visible for all players from the combine... as they go through their medical evaluation.

Just wait until you can pick a position focus for each region and scout either ROLB or LOLB. You won't get the bonus (which, if we're being honest, is fairly minimal anyway) from having a scout with that "specialty, but you can still scout them. I may be mistaken, as I ended up scouting other positions, but I think I remember ROLB and LOLB being an option.



It's incredibly annoying you can't just scout them as "OLBs" and have to pick either R or L--Madden needs to catch up on how they treat positions (Sam, Will, Mike, and distinguishing between types of DTs on the depth chart), but I guess that's a discussion for another day.

They need to do away with the old NFL terminology and get with the NEXT GEN game. I would love to see PFF style player and team grades and ratings. They wasted an entire console generation portraying the NFL as if it’s 1995. They need to take gamer feedback and use it not just consider it.

Swami said in the podcasts this summer that the Coach Talent Tree would include items for Scouting when the update came. Surprise, surprise it's not in there.

Have they added any new talents to the trees?

Seriously. Look at Backbreaker or Blitz the League. Madden sure as hell isn't perfect, but people are going way overboard with the hyperbole.

If you start in Week 1 I did not see the option to hire/fire scouts. May not matter, but I though you had the choice in week 1.

I believe it is week one of the preseason that the option is there for sure, although it should probably be there year round.

Haven't tried it. In previous Maddens, tasks were usually done on that week if you started a new coach in a Franchise.




It shouldn't matter too much, though, because I believe you can still set your scouts in Week 2. Maybe not. I haven't tried it yet. So maybe I'll just go to slepen.
