That's what I did last year. This year I stupidly thought they'd build on what they did last year and I bought the game in August. I haven't played a single game of CFM (that's all I play) yet due to issues I saw on this board. I looked at rosters once when I got the game and have never loaded it again.

I played the MWII beta for an hour last week that's more time than I've spent on Madden.

Yeah, people hopping in here and going "it's always this way" aren't helpful. Yes, there are always things in the game that are clunky or weird. But this is the first time in at least 15 years that the game is just flat out broken across a bunch of game modes in ways that are basically impossible for the player to work around.

Hmm, logged onto OS checking in to see if the game is worth buying yet… looks like I might as well wait another month. I’m sorry to hear ya’ll having so much trouble.

About 4-5 years ago I decided I would no longer buy Madden new. Since then I always wait 1-2 months before buying as it takes so many patches until the game is somewhat playable. This saves money and frustration. 2 months out I am always able to find a used copy cheap. This all avoids giving EA another new copy sale.

Last year I actually skipped entirely as I am an offline franchise lover and they totally lied to us about the supposed 3 major CFM content updates which which they never actually followed through. That was particularly shameful.

I bought a ps5 a few months ago. I have 23 - it's just awful. It's a beautiful game from an optics standpoint - but the gameplay is bad. The overdone INT's (and too many pick 6's) just kill this game. And this is with certain sliders jacked up or reduced - it's as if they have little to no impact. Then you start playing with the different gameplay levels - and it gets worse.

I went back to Madden 20 - there are many historical rosters, and a few current ones. I have a set of sliders that gives me a lot of fun with that game. It's not as polished as 23 visually, but playing the PS4 game on my 5 gives me enough fun. 23 is probably getting traded when NHL 23 comes out - and yes, another screwed up game, but I believe if my personal slider set translates from 22 to 23, there is some new presentation stuff and animations added that lead me to believe NHL 23 will be worth it, as I play 22 a LOT. I'd pass on this title if I were you.

I would normally be on board with this sentiment, but i've been playing MUT all month since franchise is broken and MUT is just as broken as franchise. In different ways, but it's just as bad - and has been all month.

I dont actually think he was serious thanking Ea, I read it more as sarcasm. I didnt think they wanted to sim there draft.

They already lost me this year. This year started off so well to with gameplay being a lot more fun then years past. I’ve already moved on to 2k, and soon fifa and NhL will be out.

I understand the hurricane is coming, but my gosh. To keep all of your resource capabilities in one place in this day and age is just crazy. I doubt by mid October anyone will even still be playing this game

Madden and their team has hit a totally new low. This is really the worst it has ever gotten

The only way this can sink further is if the mid October patchy comes and these are still not fixed

If they have any sense, they will at that point give us some sort of credit or Ea discount for future games. Week 6-7 of the season will be starting and people cannot play or invest time in their game. at least TakeTwo can put out a workable game for NBA..

He "was" being sarcastic for sure, but the part where he referred to MUT being EA's focus and therefore being part of the reason that everything else (franchise modes) is not "polished" is what that post was defending. Basically this year, even MUT is having issues so it's not as obvious that is is getting all the fixes like in the past leaving franchise to suffer. Make sense?

I don't play MUT but it sounds like no one area is being focused on. Whatever this new patch is screwed everything up.


I don't get how they don't have one person working at EA who does a quick sim draft like I do, or some sort of "test scout" to see if the game still holds up after a patch for 2-3 hours on a QUICK rebuild.

If I worked for EA and saw what was going on, I'd forcefully tell them not to release their latest patch, bc this was not an issue 2 weeks ago. They just assumed everything was fine? Now they are forced to work backwards and have inevitably 20+ page threads like this

Note to self and other Offline gamers willing to listen.....

Sacrifice 3 days of early play and buy the Disk at release w/out any Updates/Patches applied.

For me, since M20 the Disk version has provided the gameplay experience as a lot of the tweaks rarely seem to be Simulation driven and with some under-the-hood gameplay components being universally applied (catching, tackling, player movement etc...) because of the build, the adjustment(s) typically driven H2H desires, end up messing up my Offline experience.

If Live Service is only for Online Franchises, it's no value to me as I refuse to render my Franchise experience to be determined by EA's fickle servers.

Lastly, because there is an working work-around to get any Franchise specific Updates applied, staying Offline with the disk has proven again to be the best option from all the notated frustrations I'm reading from multiple mediums.

Again, get the disk, at least you have an version to go back to if their patches tear things up.

Over lunch, I did a few test sims through two seasons each time. I used both fake draft classes and auto generated draft classes. Neither time, did I run into any issues.

Maybe it has to do with multi user leagues?

The league that messed up last night had two human controlled teams.

Interesting. So to confirm you were playing an Online Franchise Solo?

The issue seems to be if you try trading up or down (with the draft on pause) during the draft, did you try that in either test season?

I read on another group that pausing the draft was a source of the issue, i however have no idea if that is true or false or whatever.

But yes, i’d also like to know if his was solo online as well.

So are you saying that if you do the draft straight through, make only your picks, don’t do any trading and such, that there shouldn’t be any issue with the loop?

My decision to stick with M22 on PC w/ Start Today and the other mods this year keeps paying off. Don’t have to worry about these damn development frustrations anymore.
