Wonky in terms of they impacted the final score being high in a way that was more to do with my mistake / a random occurence that should happen like a blocked punt but that won't happen every game, and not a reflection of something off with the game or the sliders. I'm also going to be posting recaps for all of my games as I play through the first season. As you'll see in my second post, the Jets game was a low-scoring affair.

I got ya, wonky to me means there are weird things that happen with the game engine and don't reflect what we see on Sunday. I kind of like the high number of penalties and I am pretty much following Josh, Armor , Imac and Tdawg to find the right balance in the game. I know they all share notes and feedback so I am confident they will come up with a nice set that we can enjoy, they always do. Enjoy the game.

Josh, do you think deleting the profile each week helps keep the wacky games that happen at times in check as some others do? Just curious what you opinion is.

I've never been one to subscribe to the 'do it before every game' theory.
OCCASIONAL profile deletions would help in older games because after a while, you'd start to see some very odd/buggy animations (extreme warping/suction). The animations in this game are, in general, much smoother and as such, I think profile deletions are no longer needed.

I've never been one to subscribe to the 'do it before every game' theory.

Josh how has your testing been going on AP? I’ve played two games now with the Cardinals in a CFM and it’s feeling a little easy for me. I play absolutely no switch on D and a lot of times I just hold LB and let the ratings play out. Last game vs the Ravens, Lamar Jackson was 11/33. I agree that Lamar shouldn’t be much over 55% but he was literally no challenge at all. He also had quite a few incompletions due to dropped passes on tight coverage. I’m all about defenders making plays but it should be more like a 50/50 ball. Right now it’s about 90/10 in favor of the defense. After 2 games Patrick Peterson already has 3 picks and 5 pass break ups. Some guys don’t have 5 pass break ups all year long haha. Also I beat the Ravens, in Baltimore, 36-12. Their only TD came on a pick six. Their offense was abysmal. The Lions in week 1 weren’t much better for what it’s worth. I beat them pretty easily also.

Well, something tells me ratings does indeed matter...

I've decided to do the popular things this year and rebuild the Dolphins. Went 0-4 in the pre-season and so far I'm 0-4 in the regular season as well.

I would like to get 8 regular season games done before providing feedback, but I can tell you I'm DEAD LAST in pass defense. Just seems as if someone is ALWAYS wide open. I thought I would like the struggle, but my controller might need to says it's final prayer if we don't get that elusive first win soon...

I can already tell that I love the 51 penalty sliders. I'm getting more than average panalties called against me so far - something I don't think I've seen on a Madden game before. Yes, there's a lot of face mask and roughing the passer, but I'm willing to make that trade off compared to not getting any penalties at all.

Anyway, should get to 8 games sometime within the next few days and will then share my observations.

What happens when you lower the injury slider? Far too many injuries for my liking at it's current setting.

When they are all only starters on my team and they are all 10+ week injuries. So either the slider rating is skewing the dice roll towards me or the game scripts injuries as I have tested it on the same week. Same 3 players. Same 3 injuries. Edited my injury rating to 99 for each guy. Still get the same result. If it changing the slider screws everything else up I will just deal with it. I was just asking a question

Interesting. Mariotta and Darnold were fairly effective against my Browns defense, which is pretty decent in the back end with Ward. Both completed 50-60% of their passes. I've got Goff tonight, excited to see if that Rams offense is much tougher to stop.

Interesting. Mariotta and Darnold were fairly effective against my Browns defense, which is pretty decent in the back end with Ward. Both completed 50-60% of their passes. I've got Goff tonight, excited to see if that Rams offense is much tougher to stop.

I was about to say. I’m using browns as well Mariota completed 78% of passes. I even have Cpu acc to 43 and Cpu pass block at 40.

Game is playing great with your slight adjustments. Penalties have been solved and I'll just cope with the RTP glitch. The only aspect of the game that I believe needs work is the zone coverage being too loose. Darnold tore me up last night but that might be a one off so I'll keep playing to see if it is a common occurrence.

Interesting. Maybe it was more of Lamar’s ratings, I’ll have to take a look at them when I get a chance. Have you seen the CPU WR making any contested catches?
