Re: JoshC1977's Madden 20 CFM-only Sliders (User vs CPU Only)

I like the idea of not touching as much as possible on the sliders because I think it starts to skew the ratings. I have being doing a test CFM with the Browns using these with pretty good results.

The biggest thing I am looking for is stats to be realistic, but also teams that should losing and etc. For instance, I am going to start a Skins CFM without Alex Smith. They should not beat a team like the Saints for instance 30-10..but should beat say, on a a non-turnover day, the Giants. At least in season 1. So later on I will be streaming tonight and testing out live with the Skins to see what happens. Really like the thought process though Josh, a lot.

What up Josh? Been using your sliders for a few maddens now ( always with some changes as I seek to get sim gameplay stats wise ) but I usually leave gameplay alone as you suggested. One thing I have used tho sliders wise is turning Fatigue up to 60.

Now I’ll admit I haven’t played a single game of CFM this year I’ve only tested this in exhibition games ( I’ve played at least 20 maybe more all with the bears ) and it seems to help with robo Qb by taking top players out of the game once or twice per possession.

I used it last year as well with same results with the exception of a few anomalies a season. But like I said have yet to jump in CFM yet will let you know what happens.

Yeah, let us know. Fatigue is a very tricky slider. Keep an eye out for 'jogging' with higher fatigue settings (like DBs or LBs jogging in coverage) - that's a sure sign that it's too high.

I'm using the Skins in franchise right now (I'm going with Alex for year 1....he'll likely regress and be out of the picture in year 2). It's tough sledding...the DBs and MLBs suck horribly in coverage ratings-wise....I've gotten picked apart in most of my games thus far and have the 'good fortune' to play the Pats next....that should be fun....

          Best of luck!

Dumb question but I've read a lot of the thread and I'm still confused...

            Where are the actual sliders?!

I've read the OP about a large sample size, taking time, etc. But I've also read about multiple versions of the sliders, etc.

Is it literally just default All Pro and turn IMD on?

I tested thresh extensively this year and based on what I observed, it's my opinion that Thresh should be no higher than 52 unless you are willing to modify gameplay sliders.
Thanks Josh. Very diplomatic. [emoji1] One more question, though:

What QB AI issues do you have in mind in regard to higher threshold?

Honestly, I did not see anything out of whack last year but then again, I nowhere near you in understanding / seeing how all these sliders & settings play off of each other...

No, you have to change the injury sliders to 50, which is a massive key.

Does anyone know if the deveolpmental increases because I know that it doesn't drop? I can't find any information regarding this topic.

Just played a game that had 9 forced fumbles. It’s funny because it was the 8th game I’ve played in my franchise, and none of the others had more than 2 or 3. Other than that these sliders seem like they’re working pretty well.

This set up is working great. All-Pro is very impressive this year, and most of all it's FUN.

My only small concern is that the CPU is very conservative passing the ball. I'm 12-3 with the Cowboys, exact op set up, and the CPU only takes 1-3 shots a game more than 20 yards downfield. Even Rodgers and Brees were only throwing short throws. Is anyone else seeing this?

I call a lot of Cover 3, but I also throw in a good amount of Cover 1 press.

Thing number one… does anyone know if You have to do a cloud franchise for the scenario engine to work this year? And more related to this thread do you think any of the mods we do in connected franchise matters if it’s a cloud franchise or an off-line franchise?

Thing number two… I have yet to see one person put out auto sub sliders. I would love to have good ones as it makes a good rotation for my defensive line and running backs.(mainly DL/DE) However I am enjoying this slider set so far. And I did read the main post fully multiple times. I would hate to finally find an auto sub slider set and have them ruin the game play I am having so far

Auto sub sliders are really icky to work with. They're tied to fatigue and fatigue has an impact on gameplay. I think many of us have decided that they aren't worth the time and effort (as they don't work well and often require a high fatigue slider on top of it....which gets really messy). You're much better off using the positional subs (specialists) and formation subs for the dline.....it's more realistic that way anyways.

Just as a quick note, I am working on some updates behind the scenes....and yes, we're breaking-out the gameplay sliders....just in a unique way.

                                Three areas of concern:
                                • reduce 'hit stick' tackle attempts by CPU-controlled defenders
                                • Eliciting defenders to stick to receivers more
                                • interior pocket collapse

The solution for the first item has been found - more on that below
