IMO, Madden's gameplay engine is just broken. It's old and it needs to be redone. The difference to me is the players in the 2K games just have more of a human element, while the players in Madden are more robotic. 2K's players seem to actually think and react while Madden's seem to just follow the orders they're programmed to do. Of course all this is stuff Ryan covered in his awareness videos.

Ryan mentioned this also, but why doesn't EA make a new Madden engine? (I think Ryan mentioned that it might drive away the fans that are comfortable with Madden the way it is now.) To me, it's all a money thing. It will cost money to build a new engine. With Madden already having astronomical sales number each year, why spend any more? I see it this way. 99% of people who want to play video game football are already buying Madden every year. There's probably only 1 to 2% of the group that doesn't buy Madden because they think the gameplay is garbage.

So EA can run off and spend big bucks on a brand new, reworked, and much better engine, but what will they gain from it? The profit growth probably will not match what they spent on the development. Like any other business, their decisions are always going to be money driven. It's much more cost effective to add in smaller features, fix a few bugs, and promote a new and improved game each year.

I agree. EA don't want to risk alienating the millions of fans they already have. If 2K (or BB if it ever gets released) outsold Madden, or if sale slumped badly. You bet EA would be forced to step it up.

Right now I sense most Madden fans are happy with the direction Madden is heading. Expect Blockbuster sales as per usual for Madden come August 14th.

2k knew how to make a football game. Too bad Madden has been doing it for 21 years and still can't replicate football like 2k did. Oh well.

Take another look at that Madden vid. Moody could have used Gameday, NFL qb club, hell probably Mutant League Football and got his point across just as well as using 2k. It's that embarrassing.

back before E3 Madden 10 was looking pretty promising, i pre-ordered it and all. but the more videos apex and this new guy puts out the more i wonder...i DO feel cheated..like we have been getting this recycled crap for years. The things Ian and Ea have added are pretty cool but as years go by and technology grows, YOU HAVE TO *AT SOME POINT* UPGRADE ! I wasnt worried until i started seeing the new videos where they show the same exact things going on in Madden 10 that happened in 09. Im gonna say it regardless of how some may feel but EA NEEDS A NEW GAMEPLAY ENGINE and i see a lot of you agree with me on that and its unacceptable that this hasnt happened yet. I cant wait for EA to lose their exclusive rights to be the ONLY gaming company to make NFL games, I HOPE 2k comes back ...its CRAZY to think about what kind of football game they could create on the Current Gen systems *360/ps3* That would be pretty AWSOME !

I don't need to see videos on youtube to see that Madden sucks. That's my point. It's ok to see these videos posted once in a while, hell maybe even once a week. But there is a thread everyday being posted that compares Madden to every other football game, it's getting old.

i agree, by now its getting old. Really i didnt need any videos to tell me Madden 09 sucked, i think the fact that i didnt like it enough to sell it back just 2 weeks after getting it was enough proof i needed to know it sucked. I havent enjoyed the game the last 2 years. But this year i can tell i'm going to enjoy this game.

Just based on the views and feedback I get, Im doing something right.

Learning from flaws and not repeating them is how progress from made. That goes for anything in life. Why regular people have to point out such blatant flaws in a mass produced product is beyond me.

If you think about every thread is something thats been talked about a hundred times already dude. We know past madden sucks, we know what did/didn't make Madden 10. Maybe you should start a new thread with an interesting topic since no one else knows what to talk about right now.

Did you even read his posts?

He wasn't referring to your videos at all.

He was referring to the constant comparisons between Madden and game x (even games that have never been out) that this site sees on a hourly basis.

That is what is getting old.

I actually enjoyed your videos. In fact a lot better than the other guy, who will remain nameless. I'm not bashing you with my words.

My main point is, can we give it a rest guys? Yes 2k sports made good football games, can we just let it go? We don't need to bring it up every day to keep reminding everyone of where they exceeded where Madden is lagging behind. WE AS A WHOLE GET IT.

yes u are doing somethin right. we as consumers are HOLDING EA ACCOUNTABLE for madden by at least giving them constructive feedback. i wish we can do in sales too but lets be honest here operation sports forum members. THE ONLY REASON madden sales is because of the NFL license and names, 2 million dollars comes from the license, and like 120 dollars(lol...lol) comes from people who actually like the gameplay

one of the very reasons why I still play 2k football. Stuff like that in that video makes madden unplayable.
