And guys its cool that your trying to change the future of gaming and that your complaining in every thread will suddenly make EA give up the license but it wont.

Ian and his crew don't have to be on this website. It is a priviledge that we get to put our feedback into the game. We shouldn't abuse it by abusing them in every thread.

The only thing that can come from all of you trolling your same points over and over again, is that we'll lose that interraction.

Ian doesn't have to come onto this site. He chooses too because he cares about the future of this game. And we should give him credit for that.

I can see that, but he also cares about future sales of madden and the free information and ideas that comes from this site and others. Not to say bashing is a cool thing to do, but if there are still the same stupid issues in this years madden how can anyone justify not pointing them out.

Many of us have already seen the Madden 10 Rocket Catch video. You would think that with RC being one of the most prevalent, talked about glitches/exploits in past Madden's, that it would have been a top priority to remove or fix.

"Maybe next year." That is EA's mantra, and I am sick of it. Being a lifetime EA Sports fan from the last 3 generations of titles, seeing how "next-gen" has turned out really frustrates me. I guess it is just a coincidence that Madden's quality went down the toilet exactly when EA captured the NFL exclusive rights, eliminating competition? I understand that is what EA had to do because the NFL auctioned it off, but it wasn't done to better the football videogame genre.

It's all about the money and not about the quality of their product anymore. Moody, Apex - keep doing what you guys are doing. We all respect you for it. I know I am tired of receiving a broken product every year. Look back at Madden 09 when it was first released. A patch was made to fix a LONG laundry list of problems with the game. It begs the question - How does a game with as much money backing it and exclusive licenses get released in such a state?

One last thing. This generation is going to be known as "Patch-Gen". It seems that with the ability to release patches to fix games now, titles are being released intentionally broken/unfinished with intentions, or lack-there-of, to patch them later. What happened to the days when games were coded and combed through thoroughly to ensure that it was a finished quality product before it shipped? God of War was released as a quality product. Games of today are "finished" and then released to the public with 3 patches to fix what they failed to test thoroughly. Ship it and fix it later. That's how everything works now.

Sorry for that rant at the end. I am just tired of spending $60 on unfinished products. If companies are going to continue to release games in such a state, they should be released at $30 or $40, not $60.

Future sales are with the general buying public, not some internet message board. OS probably counts for 1/100th of a percent of the buying public.

I know alot of people won't like it but I think Madden just needs longer animations and more transitional animations. The short animations contribute to the robot look and the herky jerkey look. As long as madden has these short animations and no transitional animations that connect each animation, it will never look realistic.

yes u are doing somethin right. we as consumers are HOLDING EA ACCOUNTABLE for madden by at least giving them constructive feedback. i wish we can do in sales too but lets be honest here operation sports forum members. THE ONLY REASON madden sales is because of the NFL license and names, 2 million dollars comes from the license, and like 120 dollars(lol...lol) comes from people who actually like the gameplay

I completely agree with this statement. The NFL=$$$. Most people (casual fans)don't buy football games because of the strategy and accuracy of the physics involved. They buy because a video game allows them to play and control their favorite players and teams. You could put an NFL team logo on a rock and people would buy it. Most people with a brain could realize this...so you can't blame EA for the exclusive license agreement. What you can blame EA for though is their misleading propaganda techniques and their apparent lack of business ethics. I don't know about any laws in the video game industry that state u must release a finished product, but when u are the only show in town that responsibility falls on you to produce. EA/Tiburon are reaping all the pros ($$$) and cons (heavy criticism) of their deal with the NFL.

I'm only referring to Madden 09 and past next gen versions, as I have not yet played Madden 10, but their track record speaks for itself. EA has had the answers to the test for a long time on how to accurately portray football, but for some reason they have only recently decided to follow the path that 2k5 started, or at least admit to it. Patience is running short (at least mine is) for them to finally produce the game most of us feel should have been produced long before now.

I think Ian becoming lead is the best thing that could have happened to the franchise thus far, because he has changed the direction, but like rmoody's and others videos point out Madden's flaws seem to be connected to the foundation this game was built on. I don't know anything about game engines or the technology involved, all i know is that u can't build a house with a weak foundation. So what ever that means to anyone involved in making this game don't take it as a dis but constructive criticism.

I actually enjoyed your videos. In fact a lot better than the other guy, who will remain nameless. I'm not bashing you with my words.

My main point is, can we give it a rest guys? Yes 2k sports made good football games, can we just let it go? We don't need to bring it up every day to keep reminding everyone of where they exceeded where Madden is lagging behind. WE AS A WHOLE GET IT.

Do you think that EA's devs never see these vids? I think they see some. and i think that nothing really changed in madden until consumers started to become a thorn in their side. with OS, youtube, etc, getting more and more popular, criticisms are getting more widespread.

Although the effect might be small, these criticisms have certainly helped push EA to improve the game, even if only a little.

tell me, how well did never bringing up these things work towards pushing EA to make better games?

This is the best thread I have seen on here. Ian posted at me months ago asking to describe why I was still harsh on the animations of the running game. Well I gave my best description as I could and many people liked it. This video takes it to a whole new level that not even a hardcore Maddenite can argue with. It finally shows in clear terms why so many people prefer 2K over EA football w/ amazing evidence.

I keep going back to APF even though the game is 2 years old. I just need to play a football game sometimes, and APF blows my mind with what it can do and how alive it feels. I will say it again. Ian has been given the impossible task of polishing a turd (the Madden engine). It is time to let the man start from scratch and do it right.

Everything always seems like it was added last minute with this game, whereas "other games" seem to refine certain aspects of the game and choose to get better over time. Every year with madden we have to listen to all the stupid crap, pro tak and branching this and adaptive this and that. Its a freakin mess. They dont even know what direction they are going, but they know what to say and what not to say in press releases and on message boards.

EA is a jack of all trades, master of none. Seriously, I can't name one aspect of Madden football that hasn't been done better in the past by someone else. Not even graphics.

Based on a simple inside run, alot of things are broken with Madden. You get out what you get in. If the groundwork for 2010 is 2009 then sorry, I dont see it working. If they were able to make gameplay changes, that were present but ignored the last 3 games, then by all means EA needs to step up and send out some coupons.
