The main reason Madden is so polarizing is because it is the ONLY NFL game we can have. So a lot of us want a great game because there are no other options. Trust me, I'd be buying the 2k version if it was out this year after seeing the M10 vids.

I want to play an NFL game that I like too. It sucks that every year Madden lets me down. The main statement here is to not buy it and stick with APF, which is unfortunate. But that is the only thing you can do to try and show the NFL that they have hurt themselves with this exclusive deal. The other thing you can do is what RMoody did. Show CLEAR and PRECISE evidence as to why a lot of people think Madden is subpar. Which is what the devs want. I know this, they asked me and many others on here for that very info.

So to say "EA can't win" is simply to discount what people have done. Which is taking their time to illustrate their complaints toi try and get a better game. I just fail to see what is wrong with that. I know if the game did what we wanted we would buy it. I buy EA products if they are good. Example : NHL 09.

I agree with the vids and I experienced a lot of that in 09.

I think what some people are trying to convey like Ademborski stated to Apex in another thread, it's only 30 plus days till Madden 10 arrives. We all pretty much agree that NG Madden is terrible and lousy, but we haven't had the opportunity to play 10, yet.

Let's play 10 (you don't have to rent or buy it if you don't want to) before we label it a failure. If it's a failure, that's the time time to get the attention of Ian or the developers. It's crunch time for EA right now to get 10 gold. There won't be enough time for any big changes at this stage. I would think Ian's time in OS is dissipating as the days go by.

Ill stop you right there. First off, I'm right with you. Gaming is a hobby that Madden is part of, its a recreation it should all be based in fun and leisure. That said, you realize they are opening a Hall of Fame, with some Madden players correct?

Pardon me sir, but what the hell does that have to do with anything? So they're having a Madden Hall of Fame, whoopty-do!

Secondly, you think I had to dig down real deep to find those gameplay issues, your crazy.

Its the issues (and the 3 year persistence of them) that make the game unplayable, thats when you lose the enjoyment. Your making it seem like its the other way around. I'm not the one yelling about a guy not having dreds or the bottom of Patrick Willis' cleats not being red chrome. Then saying thats whats taking the fun and realism out of the game.

I'm saying the game is broken because fundamental football plays cant be ran properly. When you cant even do that, whatever fun you thought you could get out of the game is gone.

I really wasn't talking at you in particular. In fact, I haven't watched the video in this thread as I'm at work. But my point remains the same: people scrutinize this game to a tee and magnify issues that at times simply do not matter. It's a fact of life for some obsessive Madden fans.

Me, I don't consider myself a casual fan of the NFL. I'm into it. And with that said, I'm still not the guy who's going into replay mode after every play to monitor specifically what all 22 players are doing during a given play. I'm not saying that's what you're doing b/c again, I haven't watched your vids. But it's obvious for a fact that people do that...and they bring their findings here as if to say EA doesn't have a clue .

I just said EA can't win with some people. C'mon you've been here for a long time, you KNOW some posters come on here with agendas. They see what they want to see. They say oh the game hasn't changed it's the same as 09, when clearly that is not the case. It may not have changed the way THEY would've liked it to change, but to say it's the same game is completely false.

Madden 10 is still not what I want it to be, but to sit here and say it's the same, especially when most of the people saying it's the same have NOT played the game, is just ridiculous. I still see alot of things in the Madden 10 videos that I do not like, but I won't discredit Ian and his team by saying its the same game.

I agree with what you're saying...I'm not painting the OP as a bad guy. And I concur that the devs want the feedback. Having met Ian, I feel comfortable in saying his motor fuels off of this stuff.

As far as having to quote you, its not necessary every single time, its quite clear at this point we are bantering with each other. I understand you were't speaking directly of me, thats why I used words like stereotyping.

I will ask you again, if you think its too serious to analyze a replay in Madden. Then I seriously wonder what you think of having a Hall of Fame for it.

So you enjoy football games where in a simple inside run the receivers run in circles around cbs instead of attempting to block them, fullbacks run towards the LB they're suppossed to block but somehow whiff every single time?
all the while another football game runs the play as it should be run and your surprised that people notice and are upset that the NFL game can't get a HB run up the gut right?

theres a lot I love about Madden. you can find all that on the many posts I have made that are pro madden (i have made about 50% pro, 50% con, but the con is only on a few issues) but the moody guy who made the videos is unequivically right, no questions. youd either have to be blind or not even watched his video to disagree with him. there is something really wrong with the AI for blocking in 09, 08, 07, etc.

And EA will win NO ONE over on that issue until they get the blocking AI as good or better than all pro 2k8/ESPN 2k5. just like in real football, just like in life. you dont get the respect until you produce the goods.

As you wished, I watched the video. And allow me to say this: that looked bad! Way too many blown assignments on that play and overall bad AI and pursuit.

However, after seeing all the rave about this video, I honestly expected more than one play. I thought it was going to be a series of clips of eye-sores that were happening over and over again. That's not taking credit from you at all...your points were still well documented.

Now me personally, I don't own Madden 09 which should tell you what I thought about that game. But this is where I have a problem; each of the guys that make Madden comparison vids and post them here do not post vids that say, "This was a nice play in Madden." We only see vids posted of what's wrong with Madden. So again, people will scrutinize and analyze Madden to a tee to find it's flaws, but the same won't be done to highlight any of it's positives. I mean that talking about Madden in general--not just 09.

You can miss me with the Hall of Fame stuff dude. I think it's insignificant but if you disagree with me, that's fine.

To counteract what you're saying about 2K5, if I was video capture friendly, I could show you several plays where the FB misses his block (I play 2K5 almost daily ). I'm not too familiar with your posts in the past, but this specific one is a perfect illustration of presenting ideas to make it seem as though 2K had everything right, and Madden has it all wrong. Even a 2K fan such as myself can point that out...

My comment had nothing to do with the video, more so some of the comments made. When you have people who complain about how EA markets the game and it's features, in a video thread that has nothing to do with that, then yes EA can't win with SOME people. Some people's agendas are obvious.

2. You know you do have to see something that motivates you to put in the effort to make a vid positive or negative.

3. Have yall ever stopped to think, DAMN look at all the 2K football vids on the net. You can exclude the comparison vids...just the ones where people are showing the plays and games they have had in 2K. Why is that kinda love not shown for Madden ? Could it be because the game is so drab it dont motivate anyone to do so ?

4. Why hasnt 2k5 and Ap2k8 died yet ? For all the peeps making the case for how good Madden 05 is why does it not still have the following 2K5 has ? Even in the face of the garbage we have been getting on next gen systems.

Agree with what you said, but I just feel the timing is off. If these threads would have started last August/September, the developers could of reacted as they were beginning to work on 10. 10 is almost ready to go gold and just minor tweaks if anything will happen between now and gold.

After 10 drops, let's evaluate 10 and let Ian and company know how we feel.
