Playing devils advocate, why I am seeing a WR react the same in a video of 10, as he did in 09?

Based on a simple inside run, alot of things are broken with Madden. You get out what you get in. If the groundwork for 2010 is 2009 then sorry, I dont see it working. If they were able to make gameplay changes, that were present but ignored the last 3 games, then by all means EA needs to step up and send out some coupons.

in honestly i think IAN and CO. took the wrong route with madden 10. to me 10 just look like they made alot cosmetic upgrades and even tho its great it shouldnt have been the number one focus. colored cleats and better presentation will not make madden 10 a great football game in the long run

i love how ea adds features to the games and calls them "all new" like gang tackling, online franchises, etc..... when 2k5 was doing them and not calling them "features" it was just part of the gameplay.

i am willing to give this years game the benefit of the doubt, but if its anything like last year, it's time for ea to realize that tiburon just does not have the ability to make a good game. it's like the career .200 hitter, it's not like he's not trying, maybe he just doesn't have the ability to be successful.

just cut your losses, swallow your pride and hire visual concepts.

well if its new to Madden then that makes it new. Just because some people have played 2k and saw those things in 2k doesnt mean that everyone that has bought Madden before knows they are not new to video games. Do you want them to say, "gang tackling, just like NFL 2k5 had?"

blocking in madden 09 is a joke. I've seen plays where my tackle would run by the defensive end on a pass play so that he could stand and watch the qb get sacked! They need to fix the blocking AI

Cmon man EA's damned if they do damned if they don't with some people. I'm not mentioning you specifically, I totally agree with your videos, but it's just clear when some people post they have an agenda.

You've noticed too? I just can't understand for the life of me how some people intentionally find flaws in the game so that they can't enjoy it. I thought videogames were a hobby? Now don't get me wrong, crap is crap (ahem Madden 08). But why anybody doesn't WANT to enjoy what's definitely going to be a solid NFL experience in Madden 10 is beyond me.

Way to many similarities to the play I just ran. At least in player reactions and end result.

The FB and WR are nearly identical in reactions, but the FB does hit the LB.

However he pushes him in the guard, and they both release the defenders once that happens and the HB gets tackled. Oh yea, the lineman that creates the crease for the RB to run through gets hit with a holding call.

WOW.. you're right, I definately saw the WR just run in a circle or thereabouts and not touch a single body! That's uncalled for, and at this time can't be fixed! They have to get a new gameplay engine, period. The MLB the FB went to block did the SAMEEEE EXACT! thing Urlacher did in the 09 video. He tried to run around the FB instead of taking him head on. The FB at least kind of touch the mlb, but really didn't get a block on him at all. MLB was pretty much free to go.

Now, I'm quite positive that in other plays, prolly most of them, the MLB will do the same thing Urlacher did on inside runs. The WR will tron jog around and not even attempt to block a cb or a safety....

I wll still buy the game, not because I think it will be fixed, but ONLY because of online franchise mode. If not for this, there's no way I could enjoy this game offline after seeing this vid.

yea i thought 08 & 09 were awful and not enjoyable so i sold them back shortly after getting them. But 10 looks like it will once again be enjoyable. Instead of sitting there trying to pick apart every flaw or problem, i'm going to instead enjoy the game. Its a shame so many won't be able to because they'll be trying to pick out every problem so they can bash and complain about them and claim they are doing it so they can enjoy the game.

It's the truth my man. Sometimes I even think people hate on Madden just because they don't like EA as a company. Madden deserves all the hate its gotten IMO since its next gen inception but imo this is not the time to bash or hate. Either way nothing can be done about it for 10. Open the flood gates when 10 drops, I won't care I'll be playing they game and not on here

yea basically if you defend anything about the game or are looking forward to this year's game or think that madden 10 looks like an improvement, you're a Madden/EA fanboy. If you dont do those things i mentioned and talk about 2k all the time you're just a basher. Its gotten annoying. Cant wait for NCAA to come out already so i wont spend as much time on these boards and will get to just enjoy a new football game.

Ill stop you right there. First off, I'm right with you. Gaming is a hobby that Madden is part of, its a recreation it should all be based in fun and leisure. That said, you realize they are opening a Hall of Fame, with some Madden players correct?

Secondly, you think I had to dig down real deep to find those gameplay issues, your crazy.

Its the issues (and the 3 year persistence of them) that make the game unplayable, thats when you lose the enjoyment. Your making it seem like its the other way around. I'm not the one yelling about a guy not having dreds or the bottom of Patrick Willis' cleats not being red chrome. Then saying thats whats taking the fun and realism out of the game.

I'm saying the game is broken because fundamental football plays cant be ran properly. When you cant even do that, whatever fun you thought you could get out of the game is gone.

Nicely said...The game is pretty much finished so all statements are vain at least for 2010's version. I'm incredibly impressed with what's been shown for this version compared to previous years' with the supposed fix in playcalling, "pro-tak" logic, etc. Hence, I'll check out some gameplay videos once the final version is out and criticize the fundamentals accordingly if need be.

It's not a love for the devs but an appreciation in a sincere attempt to make the game better (or at least compared to the NCAA team...)
