I've been watching this cat's vids for a minute. I like him a lot better than apex( even though I DO like Apex's vids). Apex makes it seem like the world is ending because the FB missed the block. This cat makes a joke about it. It fits because it is a joke. The Urlacher part had me rolling. lol You guys should check out his other vids too.

thats the biggest problem people have with madden is that the things people are complaining about gameplay,physics and animation wise have already been done in previous maddens and 2k games.

How gameplay,physics and animations were better than madden 09 (i cant speak for madden 2010 ) in games made 4 to 5 years ago is beyond me

People can always "ask" for lil things, like colored cleats....cause it's easy to ask for...."You know those cleats....hey, why dont ya color them" That was simple to request, and the devs knew what and how to do it....it's easy right ? ! ?

Now you are saying......."Fix all this blocking".....Well you saying that, is not a real helping point. I am sure the dev's know those kinda animation happen in the game, and I am sure they are not just ignoring it, hoping we wont see it. I mean really, you seriously think they dont know this ...They make the game !

So lets take for granted they know about the blocking and they are working on it. So really unless you can say, hey in that one line of code ..why dont ya put a "bingadebop"..... that will fix it.....then...... What's the point of all this , Video making and hoop-de-doing ?

But if they did fix everything just how you want it, ya know when your making all your comments in your vids....on how it should play out......well if it was like you say, just about every play would be a TD ! Now wouldnt that be fun ?

See, I kinda think these errors in gameplay, might help to add human errors and realism to the game, but thats my opinion I guess....and you know it may look stupid when all zoomed in, slow-mo'd, just searching for the truth type video clips....

Wow, you obviously don't understand sarcasm, I clearly don't want a touchdown every play. If you think that type of game play is acceptable and even validated by "human error" then you need to rethink the aspect of the NFL.

Madden should replicate professional athletes, a majority of them have years of football experience and college educations. Total mental lapses and failed assignments have no room in the NFL. NFL players have dedicated position coaching and training staffs.

Lets get one thing crystal clear. I'm not asking EA to make the game "I" want, as you elude to. I'm asking EA to make a game that replicates its real life counterpart.

What i found to be even funnier than the video were the people who posted in this thread making comments like "well u should have put this in the wishlist last year". For real? Are u people serious? LOL After paying $300 or so for our systems, $60 for the game, we now have to ASK for consistent basic gameplay logic? We have to put in a wishlist "hope LG tries to actually block DT instead of bypassing him AND an LB to try to chase a safety and block him" LOL Thats like going to McDonalds or something and they put all your food and everything right in your hand, then tell you "Oh, you wanted containers and a bag for that? Well, you should have asked for it" For the record, there WERE people complaining and pointing these things out last year, the year before, and the year before that. This thread, along with the 20 others like this are just manifestation of frustration of having their requests ignored in favor of hand-towels and colored-cleats.

Your analogy is as simple as ABC or as easy as 1 2 3. Consistent game play logic is subjective to each of us and to people on the streets. If you ask Joe Blow on the street who doesn't visit the messageboards, they will give you one answer and someone from OS will give you a totally different answer.

Look in right with you, I understand different dev teams handle different aspects of the game.

That said, EA is large enough to bring in enough people to get this done right. Before they built the worlds largest mo-cap stage for Madden, they should have made sure the physics and game play was correct. You have to hold to every aspect of the game to the highest standard equally, to get the best product. That goes with anything you make. Like I said before, any other product plagued by the issues we have, from a taco to a toaster, would be long gone by now.

If I programmed a toaster the same way Madden is programmed I would be in real trouble. At the very least my toaster wouldn't be able to get the fundamentals of toasting correct. I have a good feeling it would have burnt down a ton of houses and be long pulled from the shelf.

The play in the APF 2K8 video didnt result in a TD now did it? Defense and awareness can be expressed without "dumbing-down" the offense. LB's can shed blocks, D-linemen can actually beat the O-linemen with an actual move to disrupt a play. Yes this is a video game, but funny thing is, the things i just stated have ALREADY been done..in a video game. Just not this one (Madden)

Wow! Join date - Oct. 2002 with 296 posts. Looks like someone has awaken a sleeping giant. By the way, I agree with all these posts. What he's saying is true. You shouldn't have to put the fundamentals of football on a wishlist. No one had "We should be able to tackle the ballcarrier" on the wishlist. This fits under the same category. Blocking is as fundamental as running, passing, catching, and tackling. You should be able to get those things right FIRST. Then you move on to the other stuff...not the other way around.

Let me be honest. I'd probably be in the same position as you with Madden if Madden 09 didn't improve over Madden 08. Madden 06-Madden 08 made me shake my head in shame, and I thought that the franchise was really heading in the wrong direction. Madden 09 had many flaws and was sometimes hard to play an entire game because of how boring it got and it didn't exactly feel like a true NFL experience, but it was definitely a step in the right direction.
