See, I started my franchise controlling all 32 teams changed their priorites during the season, then switched back to my main team at the Sign Staff screen in the off-season.

I haven't encountered the bug the two of you are talking about.

THIS.... This is what I was wondering. So apparently if you begin your franchise controlling all 32 teams you wont have the issue. It happens when you start off controlling one team and then switch in the offseason to all 32.

Something worth trying: Play as one team. Get to the offseason staffing section. Sim the staffing changes but DO NOT ADVANCE. Then switch to controlling all 32 teams, and making coach strategy changes. See if you still get the same error.

I'm going to work on some other Madden issues right now, but if someone wants to give that a shot, it would be much appreciated!

In my experience yes, however there may be another issue. Once you go to the priority screen the screen doesn't load correctly.

Only immediately AFTER the draft, correct? Or are you experiencing this elsewhere?

Sidenote: Also worth looking into. What happens if you actually control the Giants from the start, and take on all 32 teams during the staffing screen. Does it still break?

Not sure if you saw my previous post, but it's not just the Giants... It has to do with HC vacancies and the game flipping out when it fills them. It's like it only does half the work... it will recognize that there is a new HC in the Staffing menu, but not in the Coaching menu (which is where it counts).

After year one, when you first start flipping through them, everything works fine until you hit the Giants (alphabetically, the first team that had a HC vacancy that year). But, by year 8 a lot more teams have changed HCs and when you try and take control of all teams and go into change priorities/scheme it freaks out starting with the Bears because they have changed HCs since then. HC contracts are 5 years long at the most, so basically after year 5 you cannot switch to another team and make any adjustments to their coaching scheme/priorities unless you controlled them from the start.

LL, correct me if I'm wrong, but did you say that you started your franchise controlling all 32, made adjustments, switched them OFF and simmed a whole season with just one team, and then switched them back ON and everything was fine?

If that's the case, then there's your "fix". Technically, it's still a bug but if all you have to do is start off by controlling all 32 then it's not too much of an issue, as long as you can switch on, make adjustments, switch off, play a season, and repeat without any issue.

If that's the case, then there's your "fix". Technically, it's still a bug but if all you have to do is start off by controlling all 32 then it's not too much of an issue, as long as you can switch on, make adjustments, switch off, play a season, and repeat without any issue.

I switched off during the first off-season. I did not attempt to make any coaching changes, I simply changed ownership of teams from 32 to 1 and let the CPU do the rest.

It was happening when I was trying to access the Packers staffing screen during the second pre-season.

I may have missed and if I'm repeating someone else's question I'm sorry, but do these sliders have any impact on the UDFAs that the game auto signs for us?


Everything went fairly smoothly with the draft, nothing absurd or out there...but when I checked on everything after the UDFAs appeared, looks like the Panthers went ahead and signed an undrafted QB who was 84 OVR same as Cam. It's not 84? either, it's a solid, definite 84 and I doubled checked to make sure he wasn't a draft pick and he wasn't.

I'm going to give this a shot as well, since I'll be using the 32 team setup to begin with to try to curtail the UDFA issues. Just to clarify though (for me anyway), if you use the Madden created classes, there are no issues with drafting logic, only the imported classes?

I'd rather use the imported classes b/c I always have, but just making sure I'm understanding this correctly.

Ran the year one draft again with the same numbers (P, K, star QB all 0, the rest 100.) Very happy with results. 3 kickers and 1 punter drafted, all in the 7th round.

Offseason maneuvering: Bills resigned Fitzpatrick for five years, Hasselbeck to the Redskins for two years, McNabb to Seattle for two years. Dolphins have no QB.

The top ten list:
QB Wheeden
QB Luck
HB Tyler
RT Lawrence
LT Potter
P Butler
RE Browne
QB Jones
HB Martin

1) Bengals have star QB, so they move down to take HB Marc Tyler, USC
2) Stafford is injury prone and underachieving. Lions take Wheeden.
3) Colts have freaking Peyton Manning. Take LT Potter to protect him.
4) Titans: RE Vince Browne, Northwestern
5) Panthers: SS Mark Barron, Alabama
6) Dolphins: A miracle comes true, QB Andrew Luck falls to them w/ 6th pick.

Moving on to year two, making sure it still works.

I've never used the Madden drafted classes. I'm with you in preferring imported classes. From what I've heard, the punter going in the 1st round is not an issue in Madden classes, because it's not sorted by OVR. Therefore, punters are projected where punters should be, not the first round. I don't know if Carolina, etc, takes a 1st round QB with Madden classes, or if there are other issues.

Was the QB a solid 84 BEFORE the cuts were made? If so, my understanding is that is a real QB. What was the name? Any undrafted rookies...actually undrafted or made up...should have question marks until AT LEAST week 3.

I used the NCAA rosters following the OP's logic only slightly tweaing QB priority for teams with Franchise QB's in need of a backup and only hit two snags.

The Bears taking a punter 7th overall, Nic Harris was 35 at the time and the punter they took did have a pretty high overall.

The Dolphins passing on Luck and taking a tackle to play opposite Long. The Dolphins had Palmer/Hasselbeck on their roster. And still wound up with their QB of the future.

Everything else was pretty smooth, minus the CPU's fake UDFA issues.

I have a guess regarding the solid 84 OVR you have competing with Cam Newton. Does his EXP say 1? If that's the case, and he's not a real person, he was randomly generated LAST year. He was released by whatever team during the regular season, he advanced to an 84 in the off season, and the Panthers picked him up.

In my team, the Bengals picked up Terrelle Pryor while they were filling their empty slots going into the preseason, so it's possible.
