      Absolutely purchasing on day 1.
Im actually kinda scared that they tone down the physics too much for the retail version.
I don't want anything that resembles last year and all previous Maddens.
As long as the physics are still intact I will be ecstatic.

As others have suggested, try the game on slow. Once I did that I went from this seems like a decent game, to I can't wait to play this. It tones down the wacky IE stuff after plays quite a bit and just feels right on slow. I also had my first jump off the couch moment last night with a Madden game in years. I was trailing 3-0 the entire game and sacked Eli causing a fumble inside the Giants 15 yard line with 2+ minutes left and there was a mad scramble for the ball, the ball bounced back to the endzone and we picked it up and scored. It was truly exciting

I was a little disappointed in the lack of momentum and the lack of a "heaviness" to the players, which I thought would be part of the physics package. After playing the demo, I must admit I'm less inclined to buy than I was.

I'm probably going to buy just to see how connected careers works. I am soooo hoping there are no major bugs with it and that we don't have to wait until a November patch for it to work properly. Very excited about the potential.

Changed my mind. The honey moon phase for the demo wore off after a night of sleep.

I get pushed out of the immersion way too many times.

-The player models have always have this "Bend" to their arms that annoys me. They're never strait. Everyone always looks like a crouched gorilla.
            - Replay's don't work properly... They're just zoomed in too close. The heck.
            - The tackles feel and sound needs to be fixed. The collisions are too silent unless they're "Big Hit tackles"
            - They removed the 3D logo I enjoyed.
            - The commentary is great. But, don't expect to get anything out of the booth when you break a 70 yard run. It's just quiet.

It's a good game. But, not at 60.00. It'll be best at 30.00 I'll wait and enjoy it through the Demo

I've only played half a game so far. I was not impressed. I need to sit down and play a few games before I make a final decision.

My opinion of the demo should make me not buy it, but I believe in EA and will donate my $60. Honestly I see no difference from 12. Physics look prettier but doesn't change the outcome of the plays. my girlfriend was watching me play as she always does and she confirmed that she sees no difference either.

Yea, I went from an avid Madden ***** that bought it simply to satisfy my NFL fix to seriously considering not buying it, because I don't know if its worth it anymore. Its just bad year after year, and this year may be the worst yet.

                      StrawHatPatriot is right.

Sliders should be to tweak the game to get it to your personal liking. Not to make the game playable.

No, because if I buy it at Best buy for $65 they will give you $30 in rewards and if I don't like it I can trade it in for $30-$35 in the first 6-12 weeks (last year I traded it in to Amazon for $33.75 in late October).

Otherwise, I want to say the demo soured me on the purchase. I skipped 11 and only played 12 for several weeks, so I was READY for 13. But alas, the gameplay is so bizarre that it's hard to imagine I will keep it beyond October. I want to see for myself if the final product is as bad as the demo and if the CC limitations are really that bad...that way I can speak on it from first hand experience.

I changed my mind mind from a maybe to a no after playing the demo. Those infinite player physics or whatever its called just did not come close to creating the dynamic gameplay that I thought it would.

In fact, they're actually very much a distraction in the game and look like they were designed by a small group of programmers submitting their end year Physics Model project....sorry but it looks atrocious 8 out of 10 times someone gets hit!

Not to mention players cut back and forth across the field with no slowdown in speed or momentum, foot planting or distribution of weight. Because of this, on defense, I also find myself overpursuing as an oncoming tackler many of the times because Im expecting to slowdown as I change my angle of pursuit and I just fly right past the ball carrier!

Also the player's movements dont seem to be in sync with their strides and footsteps so you get this kind of air running effect going on as if they are gliding over a blue screen or something......Just not a very well grounded physics engine all around! Its a shame

I was interested but after playing the demo I have moved to a 100% pass. The CPU is just too dumb.

Everybody doesn't play the same.. Sliders is a must for guys to adjust the game for there own gaming experience.. The game might be fine to some out the box but it might not be to others. The default settings will never be suited for everyone..

To the orignal post.. I was going to get the game regardless but I'm still highly upset over some of the features that were not included back in the game for 13..

I don't think he was discounting the value or importance of sliders. I think he's talking less about preference and more about representation. In other words, certain games are much closer to "right" out of the box (in terms of accurate representation of the sport) than other games.

The Show, for example, starts at a good base and can play a realistic game out of the box. 2K baseball and Madden play more like an arcade game and need heavier adjustments to get them within the realm of "realistic" representation. Basically, almost everyone looking for more realistic games out of Madden has to make adjustments, regardless of the specific adjustments made.

In any case, as long as I can get to a semblance of realism, I don't personally care all that much about the base. Madden has just required more work to get there, is all.
