The graphics, models, and animations in this game are cartoony as all get out. I don't feel like I'm looking at an intended simulation football game, I feel like I'm looking at Looney Toons in football pads.

Anyone who thinks that Madden's graphics are good is either delusional or has never played any other video game besides Madden. Out of all games in general sports games tend to be towards the bottom of the list in terms of graphics and out of all sports games I would definitely rank Madden last.

Sorry, but the artists at Tiburon couldn't correctly model a human body if their lives depended on it. This is just one example of many but:

Agree with the coaches, and some player models, too, but there are some good player models as well in the retail version.

Yeah of course, some are okay, but to me, most just don't look right - maybe because of how they draw the human body that the equipment and uniforms and etc. look off.

I took back NCAA to gamestop and put the 32 dollars I got back on Madden. The demo is really good.

Yeah, I mean of course some players are much better looking than others. The problem with EA's philosophy when it comes to graphics in these games is that they only focus on the players. So everything else like the coaches, the players and everyone else on the sidelines like photographers, security guards, etc and the fans all stick out like a sore thumb. Most people these days have nice big HDTVs which just makes the problem all the more visible.

I literally cringe every time the game goes to shot of the fans in the stands cheering with their janky models and animations or when we get a shot from the blimp of the freeway and it's just a bunch of flat rectangle textures sliding by. I mean they can't even be bothered making a simple generic box model for the cars. The players on the field are modern day graphics (messed up proportions sure, but with high polygon counts) and everything else looks like it's from the PS1 days. EA needs to realize just how jarring this is and how it utterly destroys any kind of immersion.

And this was explained to OS three ago by Ian Cummings in a big huge thread.

If EA expanded the graphics on the sidelines and into the stands, the graphics on the field would greatly suffer.

They choose not to based on that information.
