Re: run/pass ratio Team specific playbooks for computer- offline CCM
Reading some of the stuff in this thread, there's no way anyone can consider Madden a good game anymore, or EA as anything less than a modern day charlatan.
There is a clear and deliberate attempt by the developers to undermine their own product. When you ignore something so simple as taking a few hours to mix up a team's game plan, and thus make use of something you yourself put in the game, you have to conclude that this was done on purpose.
Fanboys and undercover marketers you can try to refute this claim as much as you want, but the evidence is right here, staring you in the face. So any attempt to rebuke what has been exposed here, will only expose you as either a moron or a liar. Either way, best to keep your mouth shut.
This stuff is just despicable. I can already hear the forthcoming clamoring that will try to justify this or explain it away. But there is no justification for it, no excuse to be spun.
God bless those dedicated enough to try to fix this fodder, and good luck. The video game industry will soon die by it's own wretched hand, and angels will sing praise that the beast is dead.Comment

Thank rawdeal for the reply. I gave up on this game long ago because of this pathetic issue. I thought maybe the patch might have brought a fix to this area. How foolish of me.
3 patches and this is still an issue. Just comical and disgraceful. EA football is a clown show.
Good luck guys!Comment

Re: run/pass ratio Team specific playbooks for computer- offline CCM
Explain this like I'm a moron.
1) How do you go about changing the playbooks?
2) Do the stars of priority change with each playbook?
Edit: Just saw the link in the first post. Is it possible to Use 1 controller, change the playbook for the CPU, then move back to your team?Comment

basically take two controllers ...put #2 on the cpu team...switch playbook...move controller #2 back to neutralComment

Re: run/pass ratio Team specific playbooks for computer- offline CCM
IM not seeing the issue with the run/pass ratio. I really dont understand the fuss.
cause when I key in on the run on first and secodn dowsn, the AI controlled team will change their gameplan and throw, and vuce versa.
In addition if Im giving up 3/4 yards per carry why would the cpu change up, until its proven that I can stop the run and vice versa.
I see all these threads and Im not seeing these issues.Comment

If you are focused on the run on 1st n 2nd down and the teams are set to run on first n second down, but call an audible once you run commit, regardless of team, then you are witnessing a part of the problem....There is a problem when ALL teams are overwhelmingly running on 1st n 2nd down....
Also, I know I have witnessed multiple times, teams in the 4th quarter, behind by 7 or fewer points, run the ball and then lose because they do not commit to the pass....These are 5 min quarters....So 4th quarter, behind, with 5 min. to go, the losing team should pass dominantly....Comment

it was Mcnabb's last couple years where he bonkers with passing the ball. it was ridiculously funny."on hoping there is a PSN flash sale before Valentine's Day"

So you key run on 1st and 2nd down, or Run Commit on 1st n 2nd down?

teams pass when they are suppose to, milk the clockm run etc. Im just not seeing it. maybe its the sliders Im using. I just notice that when I key in on the run or pass enough times, the AI switches up.
Most teams do run on 1st and 2nd downs,I run alot on the first 2 downs also. unless Im losing.
so the AI iMO is performing as its suppsoe to and its mostly team specific.
audibles are part of football. Im seeing a good mix.Comment

OK. I play 10 minute quarters and most the teams seem to do the appropriate thing.

And when the CPU is losing it is still running on 1st and 2nd down and even on 3rd and long....That is a problem.....
I would prefer some support to your assertion that most teams run on 1st n 2nd down.....
According to the following link for the run/pass ratio in the 2011 NFL season: the pass heavy teams passed ~20% more times than rushed....The middle teams passed ~10% more than rush, and then the bottom teams passed at a pass/run ratio of ~ 50/50......
So with the above knowledge, only the bottom few teams should have a pass/run ratio of 50/50 in the game plans.....The others should have a 57/43 pass ratio for the middle teams and a 60/40 pass/run ratio for the pass heavy teams....a top few are even close to 65/35....
Then with those ratios...the less pass happy teams, or more balanced teams, would have to alternate pass/run on 1st and 2nd down throughout the game, and therefore there would not be a majority of running on 1st and 2nd down....The other teams are definitely throwing more on first and 2nd down situations....Last edited by californ14; 10-20-2012, 12:30 AM.Comment
