Re: My Madden 12 sliders that prove the game is solid

Hey guys. I have used these sliders with the retail version and they play really well.

I'm strapped for time I only play 7 min quarters now, but all of the games are pretty close.

I do see broken tackles with these sliders, and I have seen fumbles from time to time.

I hope all is enjoying them.

      Good luck

Thanks for the quick response. By any chance, have you done anything with special teams and penalties?

By the way, do you play NCAA? I am hoping you discovered the same thing with that game

I have to say (with careful, player tweaking and CPU tweaks) I think this is the best way to get a more realistic game.

I'll have to experiment more, but to me threshold on 0 seems more realistic. The faster players win, even on defense.. And thats how it should be. If Desean Jackson seems to burn average db's well.. Shouldn't that be expressed the way it should really be? I would think 100 thresh would artificially nerf/handicap speed, doesn't it?

Anyway, my aim for these sliders are to eliminate the shifting and scripted plays as much as possible.. While keeping the game challenging. I have to remind myself too, if the game seems too easy at times, maybe that's the way it should be playing out realistically. I can't and won't accept player warping and shifting, i.e. cheating to make a play anymore.

I can't further test ATM since my Internet has been out because of Irene, so I'm using 3G on my iPad (can't play because Madden season ticket won't let you play without internet). But I had a really good and very consistent results. And very, very little, if at all cheating AI.
If you want to keep the speeds realistic, I would suggest having some house rules. I use gameflow just because there are certain plays I can hit Hester or Knox on stride almost every time and that to me would be considered cheating because of their speed. Most players use thresh 35. I believe all slider sets will come down to 35.

        As for realistic statistics:

        GAME OPTIONS
        Quarter length: 12
        Play clock: On
        Accel clock runoff: 15 seconds
        Injuries: 50
        Fatigue: 50
Game speed: Slow (very slow requires thresh 100)
        Player min speed thresh: 35

        SPECIAL TEAMS
        FG Power 55
        FG Accuracy 50
        Punt Power 55
        Punt Accuracy 100
Kickoff Power 52 (if you can manage 100% power and hit the white accuracy, they won't return the kick. Increase to 55 if you want the 30 yard kick T.)

Have not done anything with penalties and special teams. I have not tried my sliders with NCAA. But I bet they would have the same results.

Just played my first game with these. I was the Browns. The first quarter felt nice, then the wheels just fell off. I didn't pass one time in the second half...

Celg, are you still getting good results with these? I am picking up the game today and would like to give these a try with the retail version.

yes, my sliders are stilling giving me a great game. After playing for a few days i have found that some sliders can be tweaked a little here and there. what i mean by that is if you have the human at 65 and the cpu at 100, try putting the human and cpu break tackles to 50 and the human and cpu tackling to 50. after messing with the sliders and others i came back to mine and thought that the original default of 50 for the break tackle and tackling worked really well. as for the rest , well for the first time in many years i'm not fiddling with sliders all the way into October before i find the game worth playing. its funny , even with fumbles at 100 i usually see about 2 a game.

another thing i love is the very slow speed and the thresh hold of 100. This works very well for me. i'm finding the separation perfect.

penalties and fatigue can be adjusted to your liking as well as sub in and out. i have them at the default for now.

Re: My Madden 12 sliders that prove the game is solid

Hey everyone, just an FYI I already gave Celg a ton of praise on page 6 of this thread for his work with the demo. And I will now followup on that.

The demo sliders translated amazingly to retail. they still provide me with the best Madden game I have EVER had on next gen. They are truly unbelievable.

My only caveats to these were reducing run blocking for human (I have mine set at 42) just because my friend and I were blowing up running the ball with MJD on coop franchise. However keep in mind that is on coop and it is with a feature back. One thing I have noticed is that Josh Looman was telling the truth about how roles impact this game (such as feature back).

MJD has his line block for him 2x better than say Rashad Jennings. Want proof? Go into a game with the Jags and run a whole game with MJD in the backfield with run block at say 50. Now try a whole game with Jennings. Worlds different, not just running the ball. We all know they are different running backs, but rewind replays and see how much quicker your line allows blocks to be shed when Jennings runs... how realistic is this? I'm not really sure. But it IS cool that these types of roles matter this year.

Ok, so now that I've hijacked (sorry Celg), a few more notes:

I play with speed threshold set to 75 just to get a little more space between subpar speed and elite speed players. I really like the feel of the game after playing about 10 games with it set like this.

Also I play on normal speed. Other than that, these sliders are an amazing set. Definitely the best I've ever seen on OP sports. And I've tried all the major ones out there. It may just be me and Celg have a similar play style and are same level as far as game play goes. But, if you want sim style ball, this is the set to use.

Make your tweaks and you will be blown away. I have never been so excited to play offline franchise since last gen.

                  Great job Celg!

                    Celg,

Thanks again for the quick response. You mentioned 65 and 100 but on the front page you have 55 and 90. Are you back to 65 and 100 with the minor tweaks you mentioned above? Thanks again and I can't wait to get home and try these out. I am an older gamer (50 yrs old and not much time) and I look forward to just playing and having fun instead of trying every slider out there, continue to keep tweaking, and never really playing and enjoying the game. Thanks again and I will provide feedback.

I would say go with the 65 / 100 range. If you find it too easy go to the 55/90 range.

Remember use the very slow speed with the 100 threshold. Going to try the 75 speed threshold speed and see if I like that one better, 100 seems good for now.

I am old time gamer too. Hitting 40 next month. I know the feeling about not having too much time to play around with sliders.

No, it's because my slider level is between pro and allpro. The kicking meter is comparable to that level. If the kicking is bothering u, try lowering kicking power and accuracy under special teams.

To be honest with you guys, the sliders are set quite well. However, there are so many factors to consider when dealing with sliders. Speed is another major factor because it does determine the outcome of stats and score. These sliders are not meant for the players that can dominate. I spoke to Bill Harris about sliders and he said he's going to skip the retail launch for now until the patch comes out. The reason why because last year we worked so hard on sliders and then the patch come out breaking everything we did. This resulted in us starting all over again. I will give these sliders a shot in franchise and see what the outcome is. Remember, there are a lot of good sliders out there but it takes more than just a week or two to get them right.
