I'm not saying there's no way it's delayed, I'm saying there's no way the game they originally planned to release like two years ago is the one they're delaying this much.

There would have to be radical changes (like Unreal Engine or a brand new physics engine) or a new kind of game. This isn't GTA VI, it's not a writer's strike issue, and you can project within a year when you'll get a sports game out.

Whatever is going on, we always have to hope it's for the best.

Where are you hearing the game is delayed again? AFAIK 2k never offered a release date after they pushed it out of 2022.

With no news at all I know game could have been cancelled but I don’t really believe that. The NFL LOVES money and even though they care lot about the leagues image I don’t believe they care nearly as much about the games quality. They will expect 2k to put something on the shelves so they can get paid whether it’s good or bad wouldn’t really matter.

Once 2k reveals it cover boy in a few weeks like last July
That should tell you it's not coming out this year unless the NFL is ok with releasing it in winter because they gotta promote NBA 2k24 to September

Take two interactive as a whole didn't show off any new games this summer gamefest and showcases....
What if they wait until next year to have a 2k showcase

At least one source had said the original delayed was due to 2k wanting to do a holiday or winter release date. It’s not impossible 2k was able to convince the NFL that this was the best window for the game

Well, last January they bought Zynga. I wonder if that's when they begin their shift in focus. I'm also hoping not all development went to waste if they had to perform said shift.

Again, my hope is that has more to do with a physics engine than something like making a mobile game.

I'm quite curious what this is alluding to. We already know there is such a gray area when it comes to what is defined as simulation, something only EA and the NFL know. So did this game start out as arcade but along the way they got the approval to lean toward simulation while not being simulation? Were they able to add a Franchise Mode/MyNFL, were they able to add modes that they weren't allowed to do but were now allowed to do? It makes sense why the delay happened now but it still sucks 2K can't come out themselves and say this is what's happening and give us some sort of timetable.

This is probably the best news we've heard about the game. At least we know they were working on it.

Maybe that Arcade game that was announced a few days ago could have been that scrapped thing that they didn't like.

I wish there was some way for them to remaster or port NFL 2K5 with updated rosters and silently release it while we wait. That would be a dream come true.

This is probably the best news we've heard about the game. At least we know they were working on it.

I wish there was some way for them to remaster or port NFL 2K5 with updated rosters and silently release it while we wait. That would be a dream come true.

Maybe that's why Madden took out the yard for next gen because they were expecting that type of game to be ahead of 2k hmmmmm 🤔

It's hard to believe that anything is being worked on or will ever be released. It's usually not a good sign for a game to be delayed for so long, with no new information. Usually that means there is some issues behind the scene with development or vision of the project.

T2 invested a ****load in the NFL and NFLPA licenses. A game will be coming out one way or another.

2K is literally wasting golden opportunities to change the market. They can release a blank slate football game right now with Axis Football's front end and not even have to spend a dime on advertising. They could name the game 2K Football and give us an array of customization and just put it out on all platforms and shut down the world wide server by tomorrow. Word of mouth would generate an instant buzz. No overhead on Dvd's or any type of hardware. Just one digital download that would cause mass hysteria. Instead, they give us Lego games. I don't understand who's running these corporations and even worse, who is advising the bosses.
