I see that we can create players, but that's not exciting to me if all we can create is about 20-30 guys, like all sports game usually limit.

The real question is: Can we edit existing players' names, numbers, height, weight, build, skin color, college info, position, ratings, etc.

If so, then roster gurus can recreate the NFL and if Madden ends up disappointing (again) then we don't need it.

Also, can we create leagues? teams? customize schedules? (ex. 30 teams, create divisions, schedule format? Can we customize the name of the championship to Super Bowl? Can we customize division names? Existing team names? Can we choose to not use legends if we don't want to? Basically can we recreate the NFL if we want to?

These are questions that need to be answered, imo.

NBA Live never had the sales power or numbers Madden does. Madden defines the Genre, right or wrong.

And as I said, even in 2k's best year, when they had the license, sold for half the price of Madden, and came out earlier than Madden, the PS2 version of Madden alone, outsold all versions of NFL 2k5 combined. You're kidding yourself if you think an unlicensed game that hasn't been on the market for 3 years is going to have a noticable affect on Madden's sales.

I honestly don't know what people are doing if they think that this game is going to take any sales away from Madden, especially to the level that they're expecting. I love 2k as much as anybody but some people just lose their minds.

Personally, I hope the game does well just to maintain a bit of a choice for us. I'm so tempted to go out and buy a new 360 right now(the other was stolen when my apt was burglarized(sp?), just so I can try out NCAA and 2k8 next month. Oh well looks like I'm going to have to wait until Sept.(when I move out to Sacramento from the A).

It's a theme that keeps popping up, but it's just never going to happen. I just wish the whole "Madden is scared" philosophy would go away.

The most this game can do (in relation to Madden) is hold them accountable, in terms of features/gameplay. But, I'm not even sure that can be done.

Me, I'm just going to enjoy the games and settle in with one.

My guesses:

create leagues? Yes. teams? Yes. customize schedules? Yes. Can we customize the name of the championship to Super Bowl? Not likely. Can we customize division names? I'll be surprised if there are divisions(think the way the online leagues are set up and that will probably be the season mode setup). Existing team names? Maybe, but if not you can choose not to use them in your league. Can we choose to not use legends if we don't want to? No. Basically can we recreate the NFL if we want to? No.

No one is 100% sure yet, but you probably will not be able to edit the Legends.

I just don't see anyway possible to "recreate the NFL". This game is not going to have the same amount of teams as the NFL does...probably 8-10 or so less. It will not have stadiums the NFL uses.

No one is sure whether the editing will be robust enough to create current NFL players, logos, uniforms. Chances are "no", but even if you could, you can't get them in the proper stadiums and you won't be playing with 30 teams.

Yeah, the math on 240 legends with 11 per team puts the cap on number of teams in a league in the low 20s.

But anyway thats enough to get my purchase.

EA does care about 2k and this game. If they didn't why did they go out and get all the exclusive license for football leagues that had a big to decent fan base so 2k wouldn't make one? If thye didn't care about this game why did they release pictures of legends knowing that 2k is making a game based on legends? To me it seems they are saying "don't buy that other game we have legeneds to and they play for their teams" Im not saying they are scared or worried but they do care

Well, it may or may not cost EA a single sale, but it will cost them market share, which they do at least somewhat care about. I doubt they're scared about 2K8 though.

EA does care about 2k and this game. If they didn't why did they go out and get all the exclusive license for football leagues that had a big to decent fan base so 2k wouldn't make one?

It doesn't make sense to me to buy a game and expect to make the NFL. If having the NFL is such a big thing why not just buy Madden(I'm not talking about you just people in general)?

1 Im not just talking about the NFL, do they not have exclusive rights to NCAA, Arena, and CFL?

2. Check the stands of games in those other leagues, thats who cares about them..oh btw arena and ncaa are on tv so people watching are also the ones who care about them
