You can assign abilities to generics without the game freezing, you just can't give them a tier. I don't know how well abilities work without tiers.

That's AWESOME news! If you all find that the abilities work pretty well without tiers, then we will really be in business!

A got a couple of quick questions before I do some more testing tonight:

1. Where is the name of the created teams and how do you change them?

2. Where are the names for the generics located? I might have missed them while skimming through.

3. Is it possible to replace the the premade legends in the selection area in the game without changing the premade teams?

4. Where is the slot to change the players speed?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, thanks to husker for recommending Hex Workshop! That program sure makes things easier to keep track of editing and locations.

I also forgot to ask if you guys have been able to change the height, weight, college, appearance, etc... of the generics? I can't remember if someone posted that or not.

2. I started with CB Terry Supernaw at 00062860, and went from there
3. If you change there name, then the name changes on the pre-made team too.
4 0A in the 02 column gives a DE speed and strength. Don't know any others.

Yes, anytime you make changes to the save file you have to resign and rehash.

So I just got done creating my 3G,1S,7B setup and decided to play a game. I got about 5 minutes in and the game froze. I tried again and it did the exact same thing. Maybe I didn't really rehash and resign the file, but I'm pretty sure I did. Maybe it is the 7th Bronze that is really messing things up, I had a feeling that going over 6 in one tier might cause problems. I'll try again tomorrow and see if it works.

EDIT***Don't know why things are stilling messing up in the game, but I know exactly how to keep the game from freezing while playing. Apparently, it's fine to run plays out of the Near, Far, and Split sets but it freezes every time right as I come out in a Ace or Shotgun formation. I need to see whether it has something to do just with this team or what. I could have screwed up some coding somewhere to make it do this, meaning I might have to start over from my original roster file.

I think it would be the easiest to compile a spreadsheet with all the abilities found for each position.

There was a glitch in APF where certain player name combinations would make the game freeze.

I don't have the list off-hand, though.

Try changing some of your player names and see if the game still freezes.

I'm guessing we'd have issues with edited generics online also. I'd think synchronization issues. Who knows... maybe not.

I tried searching for a list but couldn't find one. Please post it if you find it. I'm going to try to change the team back to a 2,3,6 format and see if it works. If it doesn't, it's either due to the name glitch or I had a coding error somewhere along the way.

I put my roster file back in with the team unedited and it still froze, yet my other team (made up of a mixture of created and legend players) didn't encounter a single problem. That team was even a 1,3,7 configuration. I really wish I could figure out which name it is that is causing the problem.

EDIT***Don't ever create a player with the first name Dan, apparently that is what is screwing things up.

Yeah, I didn't know that. I just replaced him with a created Fran Tarkenton (as a Tech fan, I should be ashamed), and everything is working perfectly now. Gonna put up some pictures probably tomorrow once I get done with my paper.
