Creatine and Shiz,
Those were some good times. Do you guys still play??? I finally succumbed to Madden 2010 and played a couple of seasons with the over35 league then moved onto NCAA 2011 and have just been playing an offline franchise. I tried Backbreaker and although it has promise, it just has a few too many game killing bugs (Such as no run blocking post patch). I really like the 2k8 engine and the feel of the gameplay if only I could make a more in depth franchise which may be possible through the editing of the hex code.Gamer Tag C Bus09Comment

Here is a link for those who want the basics in hex editing, it does a pretty good job of explaining how do it and the different methods. You can probably skip the part about checksums because I don't think the APF2k8 save files are secured.

Re: So I changed the name of Calvary to Cowboys in season mode
I got done making my 11 Gold team and I must say the team is pretty ridiculous. Here is the roster:
TE Dave Casper
CB Deion Sanders
ILB Ray Nitschke
QB Jim Kelly
CB Mel Blount
DT Joe Greene
FS Paul Krause
WR Michael Irvin
WR Lance Alworth
DE Doug Atkins
RB Eric Dickerson
All 11 players were made using NFLHitman's list of alternative legends (which is an awesome list if you've never seen it).
When you destroy the Legends by 40 at home by halftime, you are probably loaded with talent. I think I'll keep this team around if I ever want to pit one of my other teams against them for a real challenge.Comment

Could you please show us now how to edit CAPs?Comment

Re: So I changed the name of Calvary to Cowboys in season mode
That's pretty easy to do.
1. Create the 11 players, you want on your team, in the game. Write down, starting from the far left to the far right, the order of the players in the Edit Players section. This is important because this will be a guide for you when you go to edit the players in the hex editor.
2. Make sure they fit the 3G,2S,6B template.
3. Put all 11 of them on your team and save the Roster file.
4. Load the Roster file onto your USB drive.
5. Using that USBXGA program (can't remember the exact name, but it's on one of the earlier pages), take out your Roster file and put it on the Desktop.
6. Open the Roster file in Hex Workshop (you can use any hex editor but this one is great because you can bookmark areas).
7. Go to 00082EB0. This line should start to show you one of your created players. It should be your first player (not always though) then it goes down for the next 20 in the order that you wrote earlier from left to right in the Edit Players section. Using the template on page 13 of this thread, figure out which player you are looking at (remember to count the spaces). Once you find the tier, jersey number, and position, it should be pretty clear which player it is. Before you do anything else, bookmark everything about the player and label it accordingly. Proceed to move down (or up depending if there is another created player in the slot above him) to the next player and repeat the process until you have accounted for all the created players you made.
8. Once you have bookmarked everything (like "Michael Irvin Tier" or "Paul Krause Jersey Number") proceed to change all your created players' tiers to Gold.
9. Save the file, then rehash and resign it using Modio.
10. Load the Roster file back onto the USB drive and put it in your Xbox 360.
11. Once your Roster file has loaded into the game, go to the Edit Players section and add the 5 abilities you want for any of your created players (don't change their tiers or positions though). You're done here if you want 11 Gold players on a team, but if you want a different format keep following the list.
12. Save the Roster file on your USB drive and withdraw it from your Xbox 360.
13. Put the Roster file back into your computer and open it up again in Hex Workshop. Depending upon which kind of team set up you want (1G,7S,3B or 6G,2S,3B set up, it doesn't matter). Go to your bookmarked players and change their tiers to how you want them on your team. Save the Roster file.
14. Rehash and Resign the file and put it back into your USB drive and back into the Xbox 360.
15. Load the Roster file in the game and there you go!
Hope that helps.Comment

Re: So I changed the name of Calvary to Cowboys in season mode
Alright, these are the ratings I've found. As you can see there are still tons of question marks surrounding them...
In Order:
Speed
Agility
Pass Accuracy
Pass Power
Stamina?
?
?
Strength
Jumping?
Coverage
Run Route
?
Tackle
Break Tackle
Read Coverage?
Composure?
Catch
Run Block
Pass Block
Secure Ball
Pass Rush Finesse?
Pass Rush Power?
?
?
?
?
Run Style (1, 50, 99)
Consistency?
Scramble
? (All 99's)
Durability?

Re: So I changed the name of Calvary to Cowboys in season mode
I can tell you right now that I desperately want to know where the scramble and speed ratings are located. Maybe it's possible to create an accurate Michael Vick if we start messing with those two ratings. Great find Rocky!! Keep up the good work.Comment

At first I was very excited about these findings but the more I read this thread the more concerned I am about people creating beyond beast-like CAPs.Comment
