Well NO and I'll tell you why.

<...snip...>
I think many gamers also have the McDonald's syndrome. You pull into a strange town. It's dinner time and the family is hungry. Do you stop of a smom and pop resturant or McDonalds. The mom and pop resturant might have 5 star food for real cheap whereas you know what you are getting with Mickey D. Do gamers really take a chance on $50 bucks if you only play a few hours a week. I think they don't. Hoever if their coworker starts talking about then a bronther in law starts in about it...sooner or later word of mouth sprends (ala WE6). I think ESPN gets poor sales because it doesn't capture the user the first time he loads up. Plus when they play it the frustration factor becuase it's a new game kicks and then they say ah hell with it, I'm getting Madden.

You hit the nail on the head IMHO. Well said

Re: Will this game EVER really get a fair shake

Here's my reason why:

Judging from the posts on this forum since it's creation, fans of the Sega Football series cannot go for 30 seconds without referencing EA Sports. Even to it's devoted supporters, ESPN Football exists only in reference to Madden. It is defined as being the Anti-Madden.

And until the point comes where at least it's own fans can treat the game as something other than Madden's bastard stepchild, this series is doomed to always be in the Big Man's shadow.

Went out today and took a chance on this game, heard many good things about it, i figured i owed it to myself to try it out. I haven't played much Madden the last few years but a lot of Ncaa. I've played 3 40 min. games so far and all i can say is that it is a very polished, well thought out game.

Had reservations about how the players moved but with the fast option available, it has solved that part of the game. The running game is a cut above any of EA's titles. You can power or lower shoulder and the dive animations just ROCKS. Super job with the tackle animations as well--best i've seen. Anyone who loves the x's and o's of football alone, should give this game a chance. Oh yea almost forgot, it looks great on my xbox. The lighting and shadows are perfect. !!

The answer is no...... EA Sports is to large to ever let that happen. Sega is like an ant compared to EA Sports who is like KING KONG.

You can compare it to politics and the way cooperations get away with murder while the little common man just strugles to survive.

Ask Kenny Boy Ley - from Enron. He'll explain exactly what I am talking about.
