Yeah...good point...that is a more scientific way of doing it. I just wanted to see if an overall drop of 10 points made a difference..amd thankfully it does.

I don't know the ramification in franchise mode or what newly created players will be rated. I don't tend to play multiple seasons due to time constraints, but I can see how this might be an issue for those that do...

I'm not into multiple seasons either. I'm going to make the 11% adjustments on the BREAK TACK. and go from there. Any tweaks you make after that, why don't you post them on the Slider sticky?

Will do...will fire up the game after breakfats and do that...let me know what you think after testing it out.

If editing every RB in the game increases your enjoyment of it ... more power to you.

I'll just point out that on All-Pro, I haven't had the problems everyone else is seeing. When I allow those big runs, it's usually because I'm blitzing strong and the run is weak (or vice versa), or that I'm simply making poor tackles. Instead of editing stats, I just try to call conservatively (often zone coverage with LBs wide) and tackle better (stop diving for tackles, square up, and hold the tackle button until the tackle is broken or the guy is down).

To stop a back like Ricky, you have to work your a$$ off, as every snap is a potential TD. By if you scheme effectively, tackle well, and get some luck - even Ricky can be held.

Personally I'm not that great a switching and tackling. I generally play with a safety in order to better control the run. This thing with the adjusting of the running backs for me is just a phase. Anyone who knows me as supersigma2of21 from MaddenMania knows how I am. For instance I will start with sliders then the next thing you know you will ask me about them and I will be back on the defaults. So I will try this adjusting of running backs probably with just ricky and play a few exhibition games but I will, inevitably be back on the default ratings. LOL

The guys in the slider thread know this already. I made sliders that I enjoyed but ended up back on the defaults. I guess I am still from the school that thinks that adjusting sliders is cheating.

Understood, but I play coach mode and I have no control. The bottom line is even Williams should not be running for 200 yards a game. Breaking 3, 4, or 5 tackles happens but usually only once a game in real life. In this game, guys like Williams and Alstott do it regularly. Fatgue should also play a more important role, but I have not been able to find a good setting for that yet.

I agree though...play the game the way you like it. We all have different ideas of what is "real" and what we can live with. That should be the bottom line - play it in whatever mode you find competitive and realistic...
