Re: Editing RBs is best...not sliders

Understood, but I play coach mode and I have no control. The bottom line is even Williams should not be running for 200 yards a game. Breaking 3, 4, or 5 tackles happens but usually only once a game in real life. In this game, guys like Williams and Alstott do it regularly. Fatgue should also play a more important role, but I have not been able to find a good setting for that yet.

I agree though...play the game the way you like it. We all have different ideas of what is "real" and what we can live with. That should be the bottom line - play it in whatever mode you find competitive and realistic...

I'll just point out that on All-Pro, I haven't had the problems everyone else is seeing. When I allow those big runs, it's usually because I'm blitzing strong and the run is weak (or vice versa), or that I'm simply making poor tackles. Instead of editing stats, I just try to call conservatively (often zone coverage with LBs wide) and tackle better (stop diving for tackles, square up, and hold the tackle button until the tackle is broken or the guy is down).

To stop a back like Ricky, you have to work your a$$ off, as every snap is a potential TD. By if you scheme effectively, tackle well, and get some luck - even Ricky can be held.

You're so right, man. You've got to call the right plays and have your defnders in a favorable position. Not to mention using the proper technique as Fossen mentioned.

all this slider tweaking and attribute redction IMO is compenstation for the user's unwillingness to improve there own skill. In the end, when you actually stop somebody you'll question whether it really your skill or the fact that you altered sliders and player ratings. You'll never know.

By leaving the settings as is, you'll have that sweet satisfaction of knowing it was your skill that stopped the RB...not some cheap adjustments of sliders and player ratings.

Your argument makes sense unless you play in coach mode, or even watch the cpu vs cpu game play out where your ability to control the players is taken out of the equation...it is still an issue for me...and maybe only me.

I was just trying to offer up some advice for those seeing the same things or wanting to change this particular "issue".

Most of us here are big boys and can handle tackle rating multiplied by .11, or 11%.

If you want the TRUE formula its:

                        X - (X * .11)=Y
