    Re: Early 2006 Mock Draft

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Now, Brooks may make some horrible "WTF" kind of decisions, but there's still no need for that type of hyperbole to describe his game. Brooks is easily a starter in the league and teams like the Jets, Dolphins, Arizona, Bears, and some other teams would love him starting for them right now. When he's hot, he's nearly damn near a top 10 QB in the league but the problem that plagues him is that he's not consistent. Is that his fault? Most definitely, but it's also falls on the the coaching staff as well. No need for Brooks to take all the blame for the Saints being the Saints. And, on that note, Vince Young has made those same kind of "WTF" decisions in MANY of his games as a Longhorn. And people are wanting him to take over for Brooks? Get the hell out of here with that -- when Young learns to throw the ball at the NFL-level or even at the college level you call me up.

there is no telling if VY will be able to throw the ball successfully at the NFL level, but an NFL team will give him a chance to prove if he can/cant.

as far as being able to throw at the college level - Vince led the entire nation in passer rating efficiency this season, so i think it's safe to say that he can throw successfully at the college level.

Yeah, starters for the Jets, Dolphins, and Cardianls.

Throwing "jumpballs" throughout most of the season and having his WRs save him is hardly being 'efficient' no more what the stats would like you to believe.

If you don't think the Bears would rather have Brooks at their helm rather than Orton or even Grossman then you're out of your damn mind.

i guess the NFL scouts that are projecting him as a 1st/2nd round pick dont realize that either.

but what WRs have been "bailing him out"? that is truly a funny statement. Have you actually seen any UT games this year?

I've actually seen nearly all of them as well as nearly all of them last year.

Because they need playmakers and no one knows what Martin will be capable of next year.

How did I know this would turn into a Vince Young Debate? This is too early for this discussion.

the jets i guess defintely desparately need something. i just figured that pennington is a lost cause, and that this season has been a fluke for curtis. but i havent seen too much jets fball.

I guess it depends. If they feel that Pennington will return, and with him they have a chance to win some games now, then I think you take the back. You take Leinart, and you probably won't start seeing dividends until year 2 or 3 at the earliest, if at all. Taking a QB so high is just so risky.

I AM an NFL scout, well not really but i did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night (remember that commercial?)

how many have you talked to recently BK?

but ive seen, and heard, quite a few projections by NFL scouts, and other people....and most of them have Vince projected as 1st/2nd round pick.

                                Anyway, we will see.
