I didn't call John Blake a player or a star,did I? I simply said he was one of the main guys pushing the racial thing.

And has far has Switzer ordering Aikman to apologize,that was in Boys will Be Boys. Yet,the majority of the black players asked about it pretty much dismissed the claim that Aikman was racist.

Anyway,I was just stating that when Bayless said star black players,the person he was talking about was Deion Sanders. Sanders apparently had the biggest problem with Aikman yelling at black players.

What you tried to do was dismiss the accusation as just 2 people w/a gripe.

Bayless reports it was "numerous people within earshot" who heard Aikman. Saying the word does not make you racist. It does make you an insensitive jerk. And no one can blame a black man for thinking someone is a racist when he throws that word out in anger & is miffed @ having to apologize.

Accusing Athletes or famous ex Athletes of being gay is not something to mess around with unless you have LEGIT proof of it.

For one thing, they could sue you for slander.

What? Who cares. Players are accused of being gangsters, racists or steroid users (added without proof) and no one gets too upset. But if you are gay.....?

It's all the same to me. I think I'd actually rather be accused of being gay than racist or a gangster or a cheat, but I'm sure most people think otherwise.

This isn't like Ed Werder & his "unnamed sources". Where people can hide in anonimity & never back their accusations.

I don't know whose side to lean on. Like I said from what it says in Boys will be Boys(which is a damn good book by the way) it wasn't until Sanders showed up that there became some sort of racial divide on the team. Well I could say Charles Haley,but he had some social problems to say the least. But that's a story for another day.

This lead to incredible mudslinging back and forth and I’m sure you know about this and it became the flash part of the book but shouldn’t have been. It was just another wanna be incredible incidents between the two but, the Troy Aikman gay rumors had been in Dallas for several years. I did talk radio in Dallas and I would get at least one call a week from someone asking if Troy Aikman is gay. I would hear about the various incidents and would not pay too much attention to them until Switzer asked me at one point if it was true. I told him I didn’t know. His quote was, “You know this is incredible. I gotta take all this **** off this kid and he’s queer!”

I lived in Dallas when Bayless worked there. Skip Bayless has always been a chicken **** *****. Anyone who believes this tabloid BS is either ignorant or a sucker or both.

Bayless is throwing crap against the wall and making baseless claims to get attention. That is what Bayless does. That is his MO. He is not a "journalist". He is a tabloid queen. ESPN putting him on their air is one example of them becoming the sports version of TMZ

btw, Switzer was a belligerent alcoholic when he was with Dallas. He was also pretty worthless as a head coach. Aikman, Irvin, Smith, and Woodson were basically the coaches for that team.

I've heard the "Aikman is gay" rumors even during the heyday of his career in the early '90s so this isn't anything new.

I too remember these rumors from the 90's. Then it was confirmed when we agreed to have a child with Heyden Fox's wife Clay Aiken style on Coach.

They could sue for slander but winning as a public figure is damned near impossible.
