Maybe Goodell is getting soft? 4 games.....sure he was suspended indefinately for the length oth of his sentence....but it had no real meaning since he couldn't exactly play while being locked up.
I honestly was expecting Goodell to give him another season. Sort of a test. Ok your out. Can you be good for a year and get your last chance? But I imagine the NFLPA and others (I could see some activisits trying to get some publicity) if he went through with it.
It will be interesting to see how this thing shakes down in the end.Former Bison, Argonaut, TSN and Sportsnet employee.

I hope the Redskins give him a tryout. His criminal record wouldn't even be the worst on our quarterback roster.Who does he end up signing with?

He can play the position. Even if all you did was line him up and run reverses, he'd be a weapon. I don't think you'll get him to return punts, but hey, who knows.
With his speed and change of direction, he'd make an ideal slot receiver.Comment

How do you know if he can even catch the ball? That'd be a pretty important part of the equation.

People see speed and athleticism, combine it with his lack of success passing from the quarterback position, and factor in that other guys have transitioned from QB to WR with varying degrees of success (off the top of my head: Hines Ward, Antwan Randle El, Patrick Crayton, Seneca Wallace, Isaiah Stanback) and sum that up to think that Vick could be a receiver.
I seem to recall him playing a bit of receiver while he was at VT on trick plays, but I don't think he's ever had any serious time at the position. Notwithstanding my criticism of his passing skill as a QB, I'd keep him at that position but also use him as a gadget player in my offense, if I were the coach of the team that signed him.Comment

Az Hakim couldn't catch a ball. He was a great slot guy
Jokes aside, I'm going to assume he can make the transition. He doesn't have enough bulk to play RB, and you'd want to get him on the field. And of course, there's always spot duty as the goal line QB, but starting QBs hate losing their TD stats that way.Comment

I don't know why Slavemaster Goodell would give Vick an additional 4 games suspension considering he just served a prison sentence, but I'm happy he's back in the league. Minnesota needs to end this Brett Favre nonsense and let Vick and Peterson run wild. That team would be very exciting to watch.Comment
