Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
The Eagles would be better off putting a recliner at tackle. If you engage the footrest at the snap, it becomes more effective at blocking than Williams.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
There is a direct competition between Matt Cassel and Brady Quinn for the next Chiefs start after their bye. It's times like these I wish that Chiefs thread was still open.
LMAO @ these comments - so true:
"As a longtime Bears fan, I take offense to you saying this is the single worst QB controversy in history."
"No doubt. This wouldn't even make the top 10 in Bears history. I actually coughed up flies during the Jonathan Quinn/Craig Krenzel season."
"My thoughts exactly, I'm still trying to convince my self the Henry Burris game didn't exist."Last edited by ImTellinTim; 10-17-2012, 03:22 PM.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
Good post
However, I think the main reason for the struggles is that the loss of Peters and Kelce disrupted the chemistry. Because Evan Mathis, who was one of the top guards last year, isn't doing that well. Todd Herremans isn't doing well either. And those two guys were beasts last year

As for Mathis and Herremans, I wish I could tell you these were my opinions about these guys, but I don't pay enough attention to offensive lineman when they're not getting abused, so I rely on PFF on occasion, since they say they examine every player during every play in the game, and they continue to praise Evan Mathis and make it sound like Herremans is doing solid, most particularly when these guys are run blocking.Comment

Yes. The backups playing with the first-team o-line has disrupted the chemistry they had with each other. It could be the main culprit behind some of the unguarded blitzers getting a shot at Vick.

Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
Here are some quotes I grabbed from one of their articles:
"Even with season-ending injuries to their starting C Jason Kelce and LT Jason Peters, the Eagles have managed to grade out as the fifth-best run-blocking team so far in 2012 (+12.6). They are directly matched up with the Lions who have graded out as PFF’s second-worst team in defending the run (-23.3)."
"The Eagles’ strength has been running behind LG Evan Mathis (+7.2) who has been one of the best run-blocking interior linemen in football and also behind RT Todd Herremans (+4.0). Therefore, it is no surprise that the Eagles have called the majority of their runs off of right guard, right tackle, and right end and also had the most success when doing so. 52 of 97 (54%) of LeSean McCoy‘s runs came off the right side and he has totaled 246 yards (of his 437 total) for an average of 4.7 yards per carry."
It's kind of funny how this article was written with the intention of making it sound like McCoy was going to have a spectacular performance against the Lions when the complete opposite happened.Comment

They ran slow developing Sprint Draws, and Stretch Zone running plays.
The Lions Defensive scheme relies on the Line to shoot and disrupt gaps, they are extremely athletic and were getting good penetration and were setting the edge very well on outside runs... but yet the Eagles kept calling Sprint draws, and outside runs, that kept getting blown up.Minnesota Vikings

I watched that game and I thought the Eagles went about running the ball completely wrong.

What's even more unbelievable is <s>he</s> Chicago's defense/Anthony Thomas won his first 3 games as a starter. I remember his first pass attempt in his first start. A long TD to Bernard Berrien against the Niners on Halloween.Comment
