JJ Watt sucks and is overexposed.

It's much better to talk about pelvic thrusts and banners and footballs and wife abusers and names of teams and garbage quarterbacks who played well in college and stuff for weeks and months and years on end.

I don't think it is because we have been burned by heroes, I think it is because we want our heroes to be faulty. It basically boils down to jealously.

JJ Watt appears to be perfect and we are tired of having that jammed down our throat because we are not perfect.

Consider Michael Jordan. He is a excellent sports "hero" because outside of the court he seems to be an unpleasant person. Sure he is a god-like basketball player, but at least we may be better people than him.

JJ Watt on the other hand doesn't seem to have any flaws, and it makes us feel bad about ourselves.

I can see how people can get tired over JJ Watt but at least from what we've seen so far he's a lot more genuine than Tiger Woods ever was and possibly moreso than Jordan in that while he's crafted a brand for himself it's not so meticulously corporate. Watt just seems like the All-American good guy.

JJ's image is just as meticulously crafted as those two. That man hasn't turned down a camera in two years.


I think that's what bothers me the most about it. People trying to make it about him being genuine when it's SO obvious he's hamming it up. I'm the last person to complain about someone getting paid. Just don't tell me he's some All American good guy. He's doing this for the checks.

Because people get annoyed of things that they see constantly. They're not jealous of DraftKings ads or Kim Kardashian either.

Probably the fact that hundreds of other NFL players do the same things he does but don't have to inform everyone about it at every turn.

JJ Watt's media exposure is not nearly on the same level as those two and you know that. Draft kings is not even a person so it doesn't even apply.

But there certainly is jealously of Kardashian and that shouldn't be in doubt. She has no talent and is extremely successful.

Why don't they? Because they are not in a position to do so, that is why. They are not dominant players like he is. He is only accepting the opportunities that are presented.

It has nothing to do with jealousy, though.

Rock stars, movie people, politicians(getting a bit ot here) are presented with opportunities to have their voices heard because they have microphones shoved in their faces.

That doesn't mean their opinion is in line with my opinion, it's because their voices happen to be louder.

She's right, he should know that kids and adults look up to him.

He's out there playing a game for your enjoyment, putting his long term health (and short term too) on the line. If you're so high and mighty, why are you allowing your 9 year old to see such violence, and watch these men take time off their clock by constantly colliding with each other so violently?

It's a game, played by grown men. He's out there having fun, but also emotions run high when there's so much on the line. Obviously this lady hasn't been in competition in a long time. Some guys do it extremely humbly, and that's my usual preference. But I'd be lying if I didn't say I participated in my fair share of trash talk or taunting.

Sounds like this lady wants it both ways. Enjoy yourself, have fun, play great. But don't you dare take joy or pride in shutting up 60K people in the stands. Don't you dare let the opponent know you just whooped up on them.

Come off it, lady. Cam did your daughter a favor you couldn't; let her know up close and personal he's human. He makes mistakes. He does things not everyone likes or agrees with. Now she won't be fooled any more and it's best she's not. It's impossible to keep up that charade.

Pffft, Tom Brady just spent a day with a kid who beat cancer last week and it was barely talked about. Is he not on JJ Watt's level of dominance?
