Re: NFL Off Topic
Traditionally this behavior is "below" the actions of a franchise QB and more in line with the actions of a "diva" wide receiver. /SkipBayless

And back to Cam....
Does anyone else remember noise being made when McNabb was out here doing the moonwalk after scoring TDs?#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NFL Off Topic
I don't. In fact, I remember a time when players would try to out-do each others' celebrations and the Puritan Priders' indignation didn't see the light of day.

NFL Off Topic
Joe Horn hiding a cell phone in the end zone will always be the pinnacle of awesome on a football field.Last edited by Bellsprout; 11-19-2015, 12:44 PM.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Chad Johnson, I mean Ocho Cinco, is a legend when it comes to touchdown celebrations. He may not have had a cell phone or a sharpie, but he was consistent.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
The sharpie, cowboys star, and dancing with the cheerleaders put TO on my Mt. Rushmore of players with the best celebrations.
How do you even think to do something like this? Did he have a phone at each endzone?Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

That's a pretty decent comparison for the scrutiny Cam faces now. I can't recall any specific noise, but I feel like there were some naysayers. Especially since the Eagles and McNabb had trouble getting over the hump. The whole "stop dancing and start winning" junk, like they have any correlation.
Listen, I've said it before, but I prefer my players to celebrate regularly with fist pumps and football spikes and handing the ball off to the ref. Generally, the dancing doesn't do anything for me.
That said, I don't think less of the players who do a jig after a score. Some are really fun like Cruz and John Brown's salsa dances. I actually like signature moves, like Jeremiah Trotter's axe and Cam's Superman.
Brandin Cooks had a fun first down celebration recently, where he pulled an imaginary arrow from his imaginary quiver to load in to his imaginary bow, then when he released it turned it in to the first down sign. It was silky smooth. Knowshon Moreno did a cool army crawl into a first down sign a couple years ago (side note: He fell off the map quick).
The people who bitch and moan about this stuff just have nothing better to do. And unfortunately, some of it is thinly veiled shots at something other then these players football ability. It's pathetic, really. The way I see it is, these guys earned the privilege to play in the NFL, so as long as they don't break the rules (like using a prop), you should celebrate because not many get that opportunity to be a professional player or score a TD or convert for a first down. In a game where the physical toll takes these players bodies prematurely, it's not right to criticize them for letting that adrenaline rush spill over in to a celebration.
You should see my celebrations after I pull in a big sale at work. If I was under the same magnifying glass as pro athletes, these losers who cry about this stuff would explode.Last edited by slickdtc; 11-19-2015, 01:09 PM.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
