Won't argue the point to much, but aren't maple bats, harder and weigh less than what ever the predominate material was before that? (ash)

Not entirely too sure, I bought a SAM Bat for the batting cages as I hate aluminum and I love that thing.

Too many WRs don't catch the ball with their hands. They use their bodies which the gloves don't help. I don't know if it is because they don't want to hurt their fingers, using their body to help with contact, or just don't know how to properly catch the ball.

With the rules the way they are, they should be able to attack the ball in the air and catch it with their hands.

Plus to measure this, they would need to test before and after with the same players.

Not every pass can be caught the same way. Receivers adjust their type of catch to the way the ball is thrown, the velocity, the spiral, and the trajectory. Catching the ball with your body as a security blanket isn't a bad thing; you still have to use your hands to secure the ball.

Players drop passes due to low concentration, overaggressiveness for YAC, and/or defender proximity/fear of hard contact. Gloves won't help any of those things.

The comparison to a corked bat is pretty strong IMO. Using a corked bat doesn't guarantee a home run.

The difference is one is legal and one is not. It is not an unfair advantage if everyone has access to the gloves. The difference with a corked bat is that it tilts the pitcher vs batter battle in the batter's favor.

If the issue is an integrity of the game kind of issue, I think the line being drawn is arbitrary. What makes one thing okay and another thing not?

I just posted my view and don't think the gloves should be allowed in their current state.

It's fine to disagree. I seem to be in the minority.

I agree with you. There's nothing intrinsically wrong with the gloves just that the material they use make stickum look like a joke. Scale back some of that tech within the glove and i'd be cool with it.

Even so, there's not that great of a correlation to baseball because all these guys have access to gloves and are able to use them. It's not a huge deal but it's something I wonder about from time to time. I mean would ODB still be able to make some of these crazy circus catches if he DIDN'T wear gloves or had gloves that weren't as sticky as they are? I dunno, but it does make you wonder.

Would Jerry Rice be able to make those catches with all that stickum he admitted to using? Who knows, but it does make me wonder.

If everyone in the league is using the gloves I don't see the problem. Defenders are using the same gloves. Who are these glove users getting an advantage over? Lynn Swann?

I will always think of Sammy Sosa when I hear of a corked bat.

Lol no it isn't because again one is legal and other isn't.

I'm guessing you've used a corked bat, have you ever played with a pair of these "illegal gloves"?

Some of y'all acting like these crazy catches weren't being made before the evolution of these gloves. Probably believe a pair of Lebron's give you a bigger advantage on the court than a pair of UA Shoes or Adidas.
