A thing I was thinking about over the weekend - are the LA Rams gonna keep the St Louis Rams history (like winning a SB) or are they going back to the LA Rams history, or do they have no history? I believe the Browns kept the Browns history and records because of how bad that move went - did the Titans get rid of the Oilers records and stuff?

They will keep the history (Titans did as well).

The Browns move to Baltimore was odd with how it went down which is why there are some oddities.

They were in litigation with the city of Cleveland so they made an agreement with the NFL that allowed him to move the team to Baltimore as a new franchise with the promise of Cleveland getting a new team in a couple years. The Browns were technically considered "suspended" by the league so when they came back in 1999 even though they came back as an expansion team they retained their history and the Ravens are considered to be established when they first moved to Baltimore.

It kills me when people think he was a nobody in college. He was 20-5 as a starter, with a crap ton of come from behind victories. He was nicknamed the comeback kid in Michigan.

Was he a star? Not at all, as evidenced by his draft place. But, he had shown a knack for rising to the occasion.

His physical tools paled in comparison to his peers, they still do for the most part. His greatness lies in his heart and in his mind. He's slow as anyone I've ever seen; Bledsoe was faster. He doesn't have a ton of arm strength.

What he has is the drive to do tedious repetitions more than anyone else. That's where his accuracy and ball speed come from. He's more athletic now, at 38, than when he entered the league. That right there shows what kind of competitor he is.

That's why he wasn't highly regarded. He didn't have a ton of physical tools, but he was most certainly viewed as an ultimate competitor.

Right-eo, just shows the kind of relentless work ethic Brady has. First one in the building, and most likely watches film on his off-days during the season.

I feel Drew Brees is the same way. Although he set Passing records at Purdue, and led them to a Rose Bowl; NFL personnel guys questioned his stature, and physical abilities at the next level which is why he dropped to the 2nd round. He actually strengthened his downfield passing after rehabbing from a devastating shoulder injury which shows a lot.

Quarterback is a position where the moniker "Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard" holds the truest. So many intangibles go into that position, and guys with amazing physical tools try and fizzle out. (Ryan Leaf, Jamarcus Russell)

Does anyone remember what caused Aaron Rodgers to slip so much in 2005? If my memory serves me right it was a combination of fearing taking a Jeff Tedford groomed QB, and teams drafting for need that year after the 49ers fell in love with Alex Smith's college stats in the spread Offense.

Yeah it was between Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers, and whoever didn't go #1 to SF was gonna slide to the late 1st round because no one else thought they needed a QB or were high on those two.

I definitely recall Rodgers holding the ball by his ear being an issue. Which makes me wonder, did Tedford teach him that or was that just how he always held it? Because if I held the ball at the regular slot my whole life and my college coach told me to hold it high when no one before and after did it, I'd refuse. I'm not gonna be your experiment.

Smith was the original Urban Meyer QB too. Those Utah teams were good and he looked great there. Obviously, Meyer has moved on and cemented himself as one of the best CFB coaches out there.

Nolan is not going to sniff another HC job because he blew this decision. Or he shouldn't.

But he made some good personnel moves like signing Justin Smith in free agency and basically building up a big, physical defense. He talked up about how if you had a choice, you always go for bigger, stronger players.

The Defense he started to build and a lot of players that Nolan brought in (Gore, Pat Willis, Vernon Davis, Staley, Goldson) really set the foundation for that highly successful 3 year run they had when Jim Harbaugh took over from 2011 through 2013, where they made 3 straight NFC Championship appearances.

Without looking it up I believe Atlanta's Defenses have been fairly mediocre the past couple of seasons but they have suffered some key injuries. I don't see him being a Head guy anytime soon, but crazier things have happened and in the NFL it's not uncommon for guys to get Second chances.

No one is acting like that though. Just pointing out that it would be cool and a perfect time to go back to the superior color scheme that they left LA with.

Don't be a *****, man lol. That's just what the LA Rams were with those colors.

Not trying to be a dick at all about this... I'm just missing something. I see the change in color scheme being pretty much the same as other teams over the years. Maybe you guys can post some pictures or give me some links so I can see what you mean. Gold and blue vs yellow and blue just seems like a universal move to make colors richer as the years have gone by. So I really don't understand the meaning of "going back to the old color scheme".

While the overall grades tell a strong story, the complexion of the grade is just as important: What does a player do best? Who is the best deep passer? Best against the blitz? Best blitzer?

Those questions, and much more, can be answered with PFF data in our 2015 superlative awards.

Best Deep Passer: Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers

Deep passing stats are often skewed by the quality of the wide receiver, as downfield throws involve more tracking, hand fighting, and positioning than shorter throws. So looking at the stats is not always the best way to determine the best deep-ball thrower, but our grades take into consideration the timing and ball location of each throw, as well as crediting the quarterback for well-placed passes that are dropped. For that reason, Roethlisberger was the league’s best downfield thrower, as he consistently launched well-placed passes all season. He led the league with a +27.4 grade on passes thrown at least 20 yards in the air (0.0 is average).

Best Under Pressure: Carson Palmer, Arizona Cardinals

Palmer’s +14.6 grade under pressure led the league, and his passer rating of 92.2 ranked second.

No wide receiver helped his quarterback as much as Robinson, who led the league with 672 yards on deep passes, a PFF record dating back to 2007. Whether running away from defenders or leaping over them to extend a drive, Robinson made big plays happen all season long for the Jaguars.

Runner-up: Sammy Watkins, Buffalo Bills

Best Slot Receiver: Doug Baldwin, Seattle Seahawks

Baldwin ran away with all of the slot awards this year, leading in yards (1,007), touchdowns (12), and yards per route run (2.46). He also caught a league-high 83.1 percent of his slot targets.

Runner-up: Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals

Most Disciplined: Andrew Norwell, Carolina Panthers

Norwell played 834 snaps without committing a penalty, the only guard to play at least 500 snaps and avoid any flags.

Runner-up: Rob Havenstein, St. Louis Rams

Iron Man: James Laurinaitis, St. Louis Rams

With 1,183 snaps, Laurinaitis saw more action than any linebacker in the league, and for the seventh straight year of his career, he played more than 99.0 percent of team’s snaps.

Best Tackler: Corey Graham, Buffalo Bills

Graham had only three missed tackles on 104 attempts, one every 35.7 attempts. It was the best rate among linebackers and safeties.

Best run-stopping safety: Reshad Jones, Miami Dolphins

Jones set a PFF record with 38 run stops, and he finished with the top grade against run among safeties.
