Re: NFL Off Topic
Peyton Manning is a druggie and assaults women now. Okay Shaun King. You're totally believable and have no issues with your integrity or honesty.Comment

The information comes from court documents, which are repeatedly cited. It's not like he's making this stuff up.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Yeah, I was confused by his response. Something explicit and inappropriate did occur, there are affidavits and documents the state that clearly. And it's sad, really.Comment

By nature the paper is biased as can be.
I would love to know what happened in '94 though.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
The people interviewed are everyone that Manning stated said something about the Dr or that something happened, and they're stating that they didn't. Is it more likely that Peyton is lying, or that everyone else is?
It is just fascinating that this didn't get so much more attention back then.Comment

I think it's funny that soccer moms nationwide have to hide their kids from Cam Newtons dance moves, but all I see on Denver community Twitter right now regarding this is "meh, *shrug*,who didn't mess around in college? College kid gonna college kid." Give me a freaking break. GTFO here with that.

Re: NFL Off Topic
There is obviously bias (the accolades and stated impact the Dr. made are very likely overblown), but the information cited seems legit and that there definitely seems to be some major wrong-doing by Manning.

You should not make any conclusion by reading a document authored by one side of any case. If 5 people are asked if they ever heard her use vulgar language and 3 of them said no while 2 said yes, you will only hear about the 3 from her lawyers. On the other side, the lawyers will only mention the 2 that said yes.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
The write up would only mention people who changed their story, it would not cite anything that would harm their case. It is possible that the defendant's facts of the case would point to people who collaborated the story and people who contradict the document in question.

Anyway, it's beside the point. This isn't going to go anywhere or change anything.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
Here's an example
You've likely seen Shaun King's story by now. King's story brings back into light a 13-year-old court filing about a 20-year-old incident involving Archie and Peyton Manning while the younger Manning was at the University of Tennessee. The story goes that Manning essentially
I give him the first point. Who knows if Mr. King has some sort of vendetta against Peyton.
Regardless, right is right and wrong is wrong, and the rest of his article is basically rape culture enablement/encouraging absolvement of responsibility for what happened. I love how he justifies his stance with "if you thought Peyton was squeaky clean, that's your fault." LOL, ok, soooo does that make what he allegedly did ok?
Just makes me giggle that the NFL universe wanted Brady locked in solitary confinement as the league was spending who knows how much money and time trying to determine what he did or didn't know about football PSI yet real crap like this gets routinely swept under the rug.
Hey, what do know, I'm just an unemployed teacher and high school track coach. Maybe I need to eat more Papa Johns and drink more Budweiser."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: NFL Off Topic
Wow...that's pretty disgusting.
Of course, this is not going to change anyone's perception of Manning and the Manning clan. Y'know, the original (not the redacted) incident that caused all this would've been easily forgotten if Manning had owned up to what he did. Remember, this was before the days of social media. The story would've been swept under the rug without incident. Instead people covered for Manning (Rollo and Manning himself) and more or less ruined this woman's reputation at Tennessee.
Something as disgusting (but at the same time not the worst thing in the world) as putting your balls and butt on a woman's face isn't going to ruin your reputation forever.
Ah well...It just goes to prove that those in the sports world can be disgusting and vulgar. It doesn't matter if you're "clean" like Manning is portrayed. We all have our weaknesses.
EDITED TO ADD: Just remember, all these documents were at USA Today in 2003 and there was a story ready to be printed but was halted. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the Mannings probably got wind of it and put the kibosh on the story. If this was all overblown crap than why was the story stamped out in '03?Last edited by SPTO; 02-13-2016, 07:55 PM.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Peyton probably sat on her face. Some of the things that go on in college locker rooms are disgusting.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
I disagree with that. USA Today did write a story on this case, but it gained no traction. I think it is because that was a different time. Social media wasn't nearly as big, Peyton was not as famous, the public maybe did not care as much about things like this, etc. The Mannings certainly did not "halt" the story.

Yet USA Today never released those documents for reasons I can't explain.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
