Pretty sure it's 2 for both combined but that is with regard to jersey's only, I don't think they view jersey/pants combinations as alternates.

The helmet rule though has pretty much forced teams to stop wearing throwbacks which kind of sucks despite how ugly some of them were.

Rams/NFL aren't idiots. They know they can sell the rest of their "St. Louis" Rams gear/current color scheme and make money on it rather than slashing it at a discount. (Look at NFL shop, none of it is selling on the cheap and a lot only says Rams) Then in 2019 when they stadium is open they can whip out new uniforms and make another boat load of money. These people aren't stupid.

I actually loved it when the Kurt Warner Rams switched to the gold colors, they looked great. I do think it's the perfect time to switch back though (when available).

The NFL's lost a good one today. Former Colts and Ravens head coach as well as OC for the Bills and other teams Ted Marchibroda has died. He was 84.

Some guy at Football Perspective made a chart of every Super Bowl champ rated by DVOA and placed the 8 divisional round playoff teams on it. The Y-Axis is defensive DVOA (the higher, the better); the X-Axis is offensive DVOA (the further right, the better). Not surprisingly, most of the Super Bowl champs are clustered in the upper-right quadrant (strong offense, strong defense). Pretty cool to look at.

Denver is the biggest outlier among the remaining playoff teams. And the 1991 Redskins are kind of the team that history forgot about.

I may be in the minority here, but I'd love to see this look come back (in updated fashion, of course), even as an alternate or something:

                        MLB: Minnesota Twins
                        NFL: Philadelphia Eagles
                        NBA: Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves
European Football: Manchester United, Brighton & Hove Albion

Nor do I, but I know the 91 Redskins were ****ing outstanding though.

DVOA is like an overall ranking for both offense and defense.

The higher up the team, the better the defense. That's why the 02 Bucs are the highest team on there. But it also shows how good these offenses are by how far to the right they are, which is why those 02 Bucs also fall to the negative side of the X-axis.

                            Interesting stuff.

So it says that the bucs at the greatest defense of all time? That is what I got from the graph and if so, I agree...
