There are no real facilities there, everything is outside the bowl in the open with small buildings or booths built for bathrooms and concessions. There are limited ramps to enter the bowl, so you have to walk up/down to get to your seats, so it isn't quick to leave your seats. Still don't have seats in the whole stadium. Limited entrances into the stadium, some of which you have to walk across grass fields. Parking is limited at best and transportation options are limited.

I'm shocked a national championship is played there. The rest of the stadiums used are NFL ones and it is basically a big high school stadium with some upgrades for the boxes they built.

They play championships in the Rose Bowl, not the Coliseum.

Sucks for St. Louis and their fans. I'll always appreciate them for giving us the Greatest Show On Turf Rams of the early 00s.

I wonder why they can't book the Rose Bowl for a couple seasons. It's a more up to date stadium in terms of facilities and it's not as cavernous as well. Maybe the distance away from downtown LA is the problem.

            Full story here:

The Rams are coming to Los Angeles next season, and soon maybe the Chargers too, but the new, $2-billion-plus NFL stadium planned for Inglewood won't be ready for action until 2019.

Cliff notes, Pasadena approved it, it was then challenged in court, yada yada yada.

But that was all set aside last summer when the Rose Bowl Operating Co., which manages the stadium, voted unanimously not to respond to a league request for proposals for temporarily hosting an NFL team.

"The board of directors took a decisive action. And since then there have been no substantive discussions with the NFL," said Victor Gordo, president of the RBOC and a member of the Pasadena City Council. "That's really all I can say. I can't speak on behalf of the NFL."

Like others said, it sucks for St.Louis fans to lose their team. Sure you might say "they've only been in St.Louis for 20 years", but that's still an entire generation of fans.

They also had the Cards, so an 8 year gap between the Cards and Rams. Who knows if St.Louis gets another team, but for older fans,it's the 2nd time they see their NFL team leave town.

Just the 6th time in past 19 years a team has relocated, in the major 4 pro sports. Not as heartbreaking as Sonics leaving Seattle, or Expos leaving Montreal, but bigger than Hornets leaving Charlotte,Grizzlies leaving Vancouver, and Thrashers leaving Atlanta.

Good for those true die hard Rams fans out here that stayed loyal to the team. Grown *** men crying out here in the news coverage. Kinda crazy that I'm going to see NFL football returning to LA after seeing two teams leave.

Raiders congratulated the Rams, said they look forward to pursuing their own opportunities and didn't once mention Oakland in their statement.

I would. Hornets were on of the top teams in attendance year in and year out in the 90s. Shin soured the city on him, but not the team. It was a huge deal when they left.

I agree. He was saying that the Rams leaving St. Louis is worse than the Hornets leaving Charlotte.

Weren't they promised a new team while the Hornets were leaving? So that'd at least soften the blow abit. St.Louis, it's now the 2nd time a team is leaving in a 30 year timespan. Sure, Charlotte lost a good team and all,but they were at least knowing for sure they'd get one back right away. St.Louis lost a bad team, but no promises of any team going to St.Louis in the future.

I don't recall that. I recall a fight over a new arena and Charlotte wouldn't approve of it because the arena they had was suitable.

As part of a deal, the NBA promised that Charlotte would get a new team, which took the court two years later as the Charlotte Bobcats.
