I don't watch the 49er's sideline so was Harbaugh calling most of the offensive plays? Similar to Sean Payton and Pete Carmichael in NOLA were until recently Payton pretty much did 95% of the play calls?

I actually like Roman. He gets conservative and weirdly creative at times, but most coaches do. They're not always gonna score but it's the way they look completely inept at times that sealed his fate.

It's funny, because guys like Chan Gailey got crapped on in Buffalo, and goes to the Jets and makes them a damn good offense. The personnel helps, but the Bills have some skill offensively and we don't see it magically translate there.

That's the frustration. Watkins should be a Pro Bowler. Woods isn't a bad WR2 and even Goodwin showed something last night. Charles Clay is a pretty decent TE. McCoy had been one of the best RB's in the league. Now they rot.

It's just a shake my head situation. Makes you want to just blow it up.

All you have to do is watch Jake Rudock's highlights from early in the season last year to late in the season. Harbaugh is the QB whisperer.

Maybe so, but using the OC as a scapegoat for a 0-2 start when the defense has regressed under the HC wouldn't sit well with me if I were a Bills fan.

There's nothing well about any of this, Bills fans should be plenty uncomfortable either way. If this is the impetus for turning things around at all (the reason for their issues or not), then it was the right decision.

Once you get as big as the NFL, pretty much anything you do as a business is going to be pretty self serving. Thursday Night Football itself (I agree with your points on it) is easily the much bigger cash grab in this situation.
Any and all examples I agree with. And I'm not against self serving acts that honor/help causes... I just hate when they effect the product. I don't think Pinktober does too much harm as annoyingly transparent as it is.

Wouldn't that be equivalent to the "driving through a player" that's prevalent in football? While a helmet to helmet is more like a crunching against the boards in hockey?

Maybe you're right that it looks worse but isn't as damaging. Still severe enough. Like getting hit by a car compared to a truck. You're gonna be injured badly either way.
Offensive lineman willingly engage in head jarring collisions every single play. RBs do 75% of the time? If we consider carries, catches and pass blocking. There's no question (imo) that many individuals in football are running the risk a lot more than in hockey.

It isn't, and I don't even put most of the blame on the OC for how bad the offense has been, but things like having a QB they put in for short yardage situations, not featuring Sammy or Charles Clay nearly enough, poor communication, walking through a 2 minute drill, etc., can all be attributed to Roman.

To be fair to him, Buffalo had wide open receivers in both of these first two games that Tyrod simply isn't seeing, and he appears to REALLY struggle over the middle of the field, which greatly limits Clay's use, but the offense has been terrible too. And for whatever it's worth, the defense played more than good enough for Buffalo to win in Week 1 and it was the offense that let them down. Offense was pretty terrible last night too. Outside of a fluke play and a garbage time TD, they scored 10 points and basically never moved the ball at all. I'm pretty sure their only time touching the red zone last night was in their garbage time TD drive.

The thing is they didn't need to get in the rz last night. Taylor hit two bombs for touchdowns but he couldn't hit an RB right in front of him.

                      Roman was the worst.

                      Just a terrible playcaller.

                      Good riddance.

The HC who is probably running the defense can't fire the DC because it points to him being the problem. So fire the OC so you can say you are doing something. OC could have also got upset with the HC and placed some blame on him.

Rex will be getting his walking papers either before the season is done or more likely afterwards.

Rex will finish out the year most likely. Looking at the staff there are not a lot of HC prospects on that staff to take over. His brother, Aaron Kromer, and that's about it.
