Some of this I suspect has a lot to do with the new rules about how much teams can practice and actually have access to their players during the offseason as well. I know Bellichick was one of the coaches that spoke out against the limiting of access to players during the offseason for that reason alone not just for QBs but for all players on the squad and the ability to work with them on their individual skill set as well as how they function on the squad.
I agree college players aren't receiving the level of coaching you'd like them too, and on the lack of practice time thing. However, I fault NFL coaches for refusing to implement a system that highlights and takes advantage of young QB's skill set. Too many times these coaches are so stubborn they try fitting these kids into their system. Then wonder why it never worked out.

The college game has nothing to do with Jeff Fisher kicking a FG on 4th and goal from the 4, down 7 with 5 minutes left.

      These mistakes are all strategic/procedural.

Then he ran a fake punt later in the game in his own half of the field. He makes **** up as he goes along.

Odd thing Broncos Twitter pointed out:

Thursday's game will feature our fourth HC in our past four games AT @Chargers: Del Rio ('13), Fox ('14), Kubiak ('15), DeCamillis ('16)

JF was just trying to get his team back to playing .500 ball. Anything above that makes him very uncomfortable so, really, it was about finding (forcing?) his team's identity.

Welp, looks like Cleveland is already eliminated from the playoffs. Thanks for playing and, next year, try to make it to mid-October before bowing out. [emoji38]

Don't know if it is just my interpretation but John Harbough seemed a little more direct and less gentle when talking about the decision to fire Trestman.

Usually coaches say it just wasn't a good fit and so and so is a heck of a coach, this time John kinda just said our offense sucks so I fired him. Which is obviously true, I just wasn't expecting it.
