Re: NFL Off Topic
1) Expand practice squads three more spots.
2) Designate two spots on the practice squad for players that can't be taken. This is how this rule would be implemented:
You have Player A, Player B and Player C. You designate A and B for the spots that can't be taken from your team. Suddenly, you have to promote A to the reg roster. You designate Player C for the spot then on the PS. Then you want to demote Player A again. He has to clear waivers to go back to the PS but you will not be able to designate A back to one of those two spots until you promote B or C to the reg roster or one of those players are cut. However, those designated spots get a pay raise over the other spots.
3) The IR rule I already spoke about.
I think we would see a lot more talent on the field this way.Last edited by PeoplesChampGB; 10-26-2016, 02:04 AM.NFL- Green Bay Packers

Re: NFL Off Topic
Would like IR to be more like PuP. If after 4 weeks you can't come back, then you're out 8. If you can't come back after 8, out the remainder.
No limit to the number of people that can come back.
Think the restriction is there because it frees up the roster spot. Something like the above would create more opportunity for free agents IMO, and could even see players get healthier as 2-3 week injuries end up out at least 4.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
I have to say, I can't stand the way the media suddenly latches onto players and teams when they start playing really well or beat expectations..
Every article I see right now is something about Matthew Stafford. His always played well. Now he's just playing even better. It's like they just wipe out the last several years & focus on this one.Comment

And people would complain if his elevated play was being ignored. Can't win.NFL - Vikings

But he does look much better this year; he's not looking for Megatron to bail him out.Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

Re: NFL Off Topic
I don't even think that has much to do with it. He used to make such garbage throws regardless of who he was throwing to. And often at the worst possible times. Seems like he's cut out the braindead throws/mistakes and is more accurate.Comment

However he has proved before he didn't need Calvin, he played well the year Calvin was injured and Tate stepped up. People just didn't seem to take notice.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
It's not that. It's that people are acting as if this is the only year he's actually played well. He has always played well, for the most part. People just assumed Megatron bailed him out. Megatron was the problem, just it wasn't his fault, as they essentially schemed the offense around him. When he was taken out of the game, that was it.
However he has proved before he didn't need Calvin, he played well the year Calvin was injured and Tate stepped up. People just didn't seem to take notice.
His consistent high level of play came with the new OC... and they have literally been talking about that since it happened, last year.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Yeah it's not like Stafford was a piece of crap the last few years. He's been a solid QB who made some really bad decisions/throws that undermined him. He HAS elevated his play to the point that he isn't making those kind of mistakes and he's clearly taken up a leadership role on the team.
I think the problem is that when the sports media talks up players/teams that breakout or exceed expectations they rarely if ever provide any context to what hindered them from becoming what they are at this very moment. It's like "so and so was a nobody but WOW he's totally come out of nowhere!" It's a lazy way of creating a narrative which I think a lot of casual fans end up falling for themselves anyways.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
