Re: NFL Off Topic
While it is known he has been more consistent since Week 10 of last season, there was still very little (In comparison to the last 2 weeks) talk of it.
Through whatever platform I use to get up to date on the latest sports stories, there is something about Stafford. In years previous, you'd find very little in the way of in-depth articles and analysis about Stafford and Detroit, other than some highlight of Calvin doing some ridiculous..Comment

You sure about that? "He's a long way to go." "He's bad hands."
Not so much.
Personally disagree.

The other thing is everyone would say that anyone could throw the ball to Calvin so any praise of Stafford before came with that unspoken thought. It makes sense that he's getting more love for doing it without Calvin bc many expected a dip in his production with Johnson gone.
But the main thing is, I don't think there is as much Stafford talk as you think. You're a lions fan so you're probably hunting for Lions news... he's the biggest story on the team right now.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
That's because they're the Lions. You should be happy people are talking about him.
You know how mainstream sports media works. No one really talks or cares about Everton until Lukaku scores a nice goal. You cheer for NFL Everton.Comment

I've always thought Dallas was the NFL version of Arsenal.#RespectTheCultureComment

So it's "is or has" as in present or past tense rather than "has" as possession.

Re: NFL Off Topic
I'm really over here thinking hard as hell trying to figure out which NFL is who, as far as Premier League teams go, lol.
Might leans towards City for the Giants. Who would the Steelers be?#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NFL Off Topic
But as far as Stafford being talked about, the main thing is he now has a full season (16 games) under Cooter and he's played the best ball of his career. He's had decent seasons and has been an above average QB, but his current stats are easily the best of his career.
In those 16 games with JBC, his stats are: 68.6 completion pct, 4,310 yards, 35 TDs, 8 INTs, 10-6 record. He'd pretty much match that for the 2016-17 season if he keeps up his current pace this season (besides the record possibly). He's also on pace to throw over 100 less passes than his best season (2011).
And the reason he wasn't talked about much in 2011 is that Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers were doing it better that year and the narrative in general was that the Lions actually made the playoffs. The Matt Flynn debacle didn't help.
I will slightly disagree with wwharton on the amount of Stafford news RJ is seeing being based on searching for Lions news. The conversation definitely kicked up a ton nationally after the win over Washington.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment
