I don't believe that's all it was. He may have been evaluated for a concussion, too, but I think it was his knee. It got caught underneath him on that last tackle.

I like Luke Keuchly but I couldn't help but chuckle the way he was sobbing and pouting after his injury. It looked like bad acting.

        I'm a bad person though.

So Ray Lewis had a few comments about Joe Flacco:

I don't know if Ray is right. I think it is possible to be both passionate about something and rather reserved.

They talk a lot out here in Denver about that with Trevor Siemian. He's a pretty low key guy and they wonder at times about his passion for the game. I think it's stupid to assume someone isn't passionate about what they do because they don't express it outwardly.

I was going to edit my post because I wanted to touch on something when I saw your response.

I think that outward expression is what makes someone passionate. You can love something just as much as the next person, but it is wearing that emotion on your sleeve that makes you passionate.

Now with that definition of the word, no, Joe is not passionate. But that is not, or rather should not be, a criticism in the slightest. Are Vulcans passionate about logic? No, but no one cares about logic more.

However, I'm fairly confident that this is not what Ray was talking about. I think he (and those in Denver) are conflating passion with love of the game. And in this sense, yes a person can be reserved yet passionate.

The other side of this, this could be a nightmare scenario. We have one of Baltimore's most beloved athletes (possibly behind only Ripken and Phelps) possibly taking a shot at the franchise QB. Not what a Ravens fan wants to see lol

Well said. Not every player needs to do a dance as they go on the field like Ray did to show how much they love the game.

That passionless QB won you a Super Bowl while playing historically good doing so, Mr. Lewis.

So tell me, does being all rah rah about the game really matter?

There's more then one way to the end goal. Yes, I'd prefer my guys to show a little emotion now and again when appropriate. That "oh. Darn." attitudelessness does seem weird. But when the media and fans bring it up and try to extrapolate extra meaning from it, it's just creating a story that isn't there.

Might be time to use Speedy's suggestion and just make one thread for all the games with the exception of Primetime games.

I'll just start threads for every game that aren't already started going forward.

I don't think anyone realizes the affect a concussion has on the brain. It can trigger an uncontrollable response, like laughing, crying, etc

Thinking he was sobbing or pouting is just idiotic and ignorant to think.

I haven't seen one person on here saying that he's "soft" for crying BUT I'm sure there are some idiots on twitter doing that.

The Bears don't deserve game threads.

I second this notion for Tampa as well.

“I love Ray, and I love how he always spoke from the heart, but if you listened to those speeches, a lot of them didn’t even make sense,” Flacco said a year after Lewis retired. “He meant everything he was saying, but I didn’t know what he was talking about 90 percent of the time.”
This is absolutely hilarious. How did I miss this?
