I think it's gunna be Harbaugh. Yes they have improved over last year but he has missed the playoffs 3 of the past 4 years.
          Florio, is that you? Lol

Every year it seems there’s a surprise firing in the NFL. Last year, it was former Buccaneers coach Lovie Smith. Some have speculated that Ravens coach John Harbaugh could be this year’s candidate for a bolt-from-the-blue termination.

As one source explained it, there’s “no chance” John Harbaugh will be let go by Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti. Via Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com, Harbaugh quietly has received at some point a contract extension that gives him security beyond 2017. Previously, John Harbaugh received a new contract prior to the 2013 season, after winning a Super Bowl. Rumors linking John Harbaugh to the Michigan job in 2014 may have resulted in his latest extension.

It’s possible, in theory, that Harbaugh could be inclined to move on after nine years in Baltimore. Regarded in league circles as even more intense and competitive than his brother Jim (but generally considered to be better at keeping it under control publicly), John Harbaugh potentially could reach a point at which he wants to move on, especially with the Rams job open and multiple coaches under contract with other teams reportedly interested. There’s currently no tangible reason, however, to believe that John Harbaugh has acquired a case of wanderlust.

Harbaugh took the Ravens to the playoffs in each of his first five seasons. Since then, the Ravens have made it to the playoffs only one out of four times. After reaching the final eight and nearly beating New England in the 2014 postseason, Baltimore has failed to make it to the playoffs in each of the last two years.

While that may result in some increased pressure for 2017, it’s not enough to make John Harbaugh this year’s surprise firing.

Which, of course, would definitely make it a surprise if he’s fired.

Tyrod to the Cardinals makes too much sense or at least it's the most fun option.

LOL, I was informed in making that choice but hadn't read Florio's piece. It was actually from Greg Bedard at SI he brought it up during his weekly radio show appearance in Boston. And it was exactly what I had said about the Ravens having a high standard and them missing the playoffs in 3 of the last 4 years.

Yes. At least I can feel better knowing the giants have an NFL qb on roster finally.

Honestly, I think that would be one of the best places Taylor could land. He's got a great deep ball and with the run game being quite good in Arizona there would be some balance. I'm not overly familiar with their o-line but I believe it's one of the better ones in the league and I think that alone will greatly improve things for Taylor.

Tyrod isn't out, he's just not playing so he doesn't get injured and require a contract pick up. Tyrod hasn't played exceptionally well, but he's #10 in PFF QB rankings by score. And his payment next year is going to be pretty average for a quarterback.

His stats this year, like I said, haven't been exceptional, but fans don't like to read stats, they just like to have feelings. I hope we get Anthony Lynn in here and he steers the ship.

I was thinking where he could land if we don't pick up his option and all I could think of was Chicago. A place without a young QB or one with a huge contract (Cutler's is almost up I believe, or at least able to be moved without big penalty).

But Arizona does seem ripe. Not sure Palmer's contract, I do believe he signed an extension relatively recently but not sure on the penalties should the Cards get out of it.

Their OL was a disaster this year though. One of the worst in the league I believe.

Sounds like Anthony Lynn is going to get a legit shot at the HC gig in Buffalo. I'm kinda upset about it because I don't want any of the last two years of stink on this thing going forward, but Lynn has had this rushing offense humming since he got promoted to OC and he had HC consideration this past offseason so it's not like we're going for a nobody who happens to be here already.

muggins, I don't agree on Taylor. That may be middle of the pack QB money, but to tie it up in a guy we're still not sure about seems foolish. A very Buffalo Bills thing to do. Let's not forget he's not the youngest guy anymore having been in the league for 6-7 years now too. I do like Taylor a lot, it's really just the money. Seems like we're just settling since we've been QB starved forever instead of trying to draft-develop one. Too scared to give up on a passable one.

I'd be cool with letting him go and letting him test the market to reset his price. Bring him back when/if he doesn't get what we would end up paying him. If he gets away... it is what it is. I'm okay with it, would just be clarity on where this team is heading - a complete rebuild. With a rushing based offense, having an inexperienced QB (Jones? A draftee?) wouldn't be the worst scenario. Gotta sure up that defense though. For real.

Word is Jim Schwartz is going to be scapegoated in Philly for reasons I cannot fathom. I'd do questionable things to bring him back to Buffalo as DC or even HC.

He's been interviewed a ton of times already for HC elsewhere. I'd guess he's on a shortlist for other jobs. People are saying Tom Coughlin which would be a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE MISTAKE

We aren't in full rebuild mode though, we have a lot of talent on defense and on offense. I agree that Taylor isn't the franchise QB, but there are very few of those in the NFL now and gambling on a draft pick when we have a dude who could take us to the playoffs... I dunno

I don't believe this angle for one second. If it was about Taylor not getting injured the GM wouldn't have come out said they wanna see what they can get from EJ Manuel.
