Why wouldn't they say that? Would you expect him to say he knows Manuel is garbage but he wants to save money?

Its similar to when a star player gets hurt and everyone knows that it puts the team at a disadvantage but they never say that. They repeat the safe next man up line and act as if they want to see what they can get from the backup

Seeing as that's what the coach said, yes I would.

Full disclosure the GM sent the interim head coach out to the mic instead of doing it himself, and the head coach said "it was a business decision".

To be fair I hadn't read that before I posted the first time.

He's getting destroyed on Twitter by journalists and fans. I don't know how this person is still the GM of our team, I think he has something over on the Pegulas

So then they said both things? Both that it was a business decision and that they wanted to see what they can get from EJ?

I'm still not seeing how the coach/GM saying they want to see what EJ can do eliminates the possibility that they kept Tyrod out to prevent injury. That is the point of preseason games right? So why is it not believable here?

They want to prevent injury in order to keep their options open I think.

What's up with the owner's wife holding closed door meetings with player? Greg A. Bedard of SI said on the radio she was meeting with players behind Rex Ryan's back throughout the season. What's going on in Buffalo?

I can see firing Rex Ryan, but to keep Doug Whaley is a huge mistake. I don't see much changing with him still running the show regardless of what is hired as HC.

Kim is the owner, they are both owners, she's always been a full partner in it.

Fair enough. Still reeks of dysfunction to me. But what do I know, you're more familiar with the Bills' situation than I am.

Yeah I mean I definitely don't want the owner of the team having closed door meets with players about on the field stuff without coaches present, but one of her main initiatives has been the One Buffalo thing and a lot of marketing stuff, so that may have been what the meetings were about.

The Bills are more Kim's baby than Terry who has more of a vested interest in the Sabres but yeah, the dysfunction is through the roof right now. BTW Lynn has said today that the decision to start Manuel wasn't his. I don't understand how the hell Whaley is going to get away with keeping his job. Maybe he's having an affair with Kim?

Certainly would explain some of the effed up crap going on at One Bills Drive these days.

I want Tony Romo somehow as a stop gap while they figure out what to do going forward. Don't ask me how it would happen, that's above my pay grade.

Romo in Chicago would be a nice PR story since he played his college ball at Eastern Illinois.
