Former Browns/Ravens' WRD Michael Jackson died early Friday morning in a Motorcycle Accident after hitting a vehicle that was backing out while riding at a high rate of speed.

A 20 y/o female that was in the car also died after the bike crashed into the driver's side door.

Aw man R.I.P. to those who lost their lives.

I always liked watching Michael "hoo hee" Jackson on the Browns.

Rolondo McClain pulled over for a window tint violation. The smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle led to him being arrested for both drug possession and carrying a firearm w/out a permit.

Quite a few players can't leave the ganja alone. Must be addictive or something if people chose to smoke it over making millions right?

To some people yeah. Just like some people get addicted to things like video games, gambling, TV, etc.

I know it seems completely logical from our cheap seats, but it's just as easy for someone in their positions not to make this connection. It's similar to saying driving 80 must be addictive if people are choosing it over life.

The reality is I haven't died yet driving 80 so I don't think it's going to happen to me... or if I do get in an accident, it's not going to necessarily be the worse case scenario. Similarly these players have been smoking weed freely without an issue their entire lives... or if there's a chance they get caught, it'll be a slap on the wrist.

Your comment may ring true for a Josh Gordon or Ricky Williams. But most of these guys are just willfully rolling the dice.

Yeah.. I don't think they choose it over making millions. They choose to smoke it and hope to get away with it while still making millions lol.

Anyway Tom Brady talking about possibly playing past 45 now... please no.

Or they might have **** going on in their lives where they're self-medicating with various substances including weed. These guys are, in fact, humans.

But even if self medicating with weed and you know millions are on the line...can you not seek out an alternative method that falls within the guidelines?

I don't know if there is one or not as I don't engage in researching that topic, but it's my initial reaction.

It could be an addiction. I'm addicted to sugar and trying to kick it. Without a doubt I can say that there is a psychological effect where I physically CRAVE sugar to the point where I have to go get it. Trying to break it cold turkey is ridiculously hard. Maybe it's the same way for them and weed.

I mean, if you're at the point where you can't quit weed, you're probably in to some other stuff to the point where it's affecting your daily life.

I think it's absolutely an addiction for some, but unfair to paint everyone that way... and honestly, more unfair to those who do have an addiction.

But your 1st comment is along the lines of what I was originally replying to. I think you understand the human nature of connections like this (taking a chance on something illegal without making a direct correlation of how it may effect you financially or otherwise) better than most, considering your job. In short, we, as people, make bad decisions all the time. We get away with it enough and we are less and less careful with trying to avoid getting caught. Other than the repeat offenders, I don't see any reason to consider these young men any different than the average person in their decision making, even though the consequences in this case can be so big.

I'd actually like to see a study as to whether sugar or THC has more of a physical addiction. My money's on sugar.
