NFL Off Topic

I find Stephen A. Smith highly entertaining. There are plenty of other outlets I choose to visit to get in-depth thought provoking sports coverage.

I sorta feel like most folks to jump on the Stephen A. bashing are either ignorant to the wealth of well thought out sports covering it there, or just flat out take themselves too seriously.

Eh, the gaff happen on First Take, which is nothing more than magnified barbershop sports talk, build off staged predetermined debates.

I get folks wanting to get their jokes off, but those acting like Stephen A. Smith and the gang are the downfall of sports journalism is flat out hilarious to me. Feels like the problem is you, rather the him and those making a living in that lane.

I was trying to put it politely, but that was one of the-if not THE-most pitiful, wholly unprepared, don't-have-your-crap-together moments in sports talk yada yada ever.

For him to have the AUDACITY....the unmitigated GALL...to go on a national broadcast in a state of absurdity exceeding even Harry Carey...is madness.

So during the morning shows today it was reported that the Ravens may trade Flacco in the offseason. I wonder if JAX makes a call?

I feel like he's on par with Bortles at this point? Flacco has been cheeks for a minute. I could be wrong but I don't feel like this is a change of scenery situation; he is what he is.

Well the reason a trade was brought up was the fact that the Ravens would get 10 million in cap relief if he's traded away. I agree that he's probably looking at getting cut.

Shiz, I dunno man; it's hard to call ANYONE on a par as Bortles. Who knows, maybe you're right but I think Flacco still has SOMETHING left in the tank but he has to be in the right situation.

The Jags may look at him, but unless they are going to take Bortles, the cap hit is too much from the trade. Bortles will probably be released, but may wait until June to save money. It depends on what happens with the coaching and others in the organization though. They have to have a QB to play until whatever QB they draft is ready and Kessler isn't that QB.

Flacco's contract is too much for a trade to happen. I'm sure there will be some interest, but only for a reasonable number for a fringe starter.

Right, for the Ravens, it makes sense and would be preferable to trade him.

Does another team want to take that contract that badly though? It’s not like he’s playing at that level anymore.
