Change isn't easy & it does come with time, especially in a country that benefits (hugely) from a lot of the issues we are trying to see end.

It's comes easy by just talking to people. It's happening right now. It's just that people don't want to have these conversations. And both sides are guilty of it.

Brees could have reached out to his teammates. He clearly didn't. I don't think Brees is a bad guy. But damn did that come off tone deaf and weak.

Understand everything going on around you. Open your eyes. That statement just sounds arrogant and all too familiar.

It doesn't come easy, my friend. There has been multiple peaceful protests & outcries for reform since I can remember.

And it just about discussion, anymore, but actually making needed reform in a variety of places. Which I won't get into since they violate the TOS.

Yes. I agree there have been plenty of protests. But nobody wants to talk to each other. Both want to live in their bubble instead of having these difficult conversations. I have been guilty of that at times. Probably everyone has at some point. I'm glad to see people finally opening up and talking with each other. I'm glad to see police and protesters dancing, shaking hands, and hugging each other. I'm glad to see healing among communities.

Yet, only one side has the majority of the power and on every other day ignores these very topics and discussions being raised.

The PR optics of police and protesters being human and treating each other as such is a nice image and thought, but in a lot of these instances you have the same police department a handful of blocks away doing the exact opposite to protesters where news media isn't present.

You're always going to have (as nicely as possible) jerks. That's never going to change. Just need accountability for those jerks.

Man they are sick of having these conversations. One YouTube search on police brutality and it is scary how many videos pop up. It's just inexcusable.

They tried to kneel and they got mocked for it. They've literally exhausted every option. That's really what it comes down to and I'm not trying to be ugly.

So Brees comes off really badly here.

It's easy to block people out when it's not a face to face convo.

There are many people having these face to face conversations and they still aren't getting it. Imagine how frustrating that is.

I imagine it would be. But I don't think this is a binary choice where you have to pick one side or the other.

I'm in the middle. I'm for everyone's right to protest. I'm for ending police brutality. I also think that some means for showing light to issues are better than others. Some disagree with me regarding the last point. And hey, that's okay.

There can't be a middle anymore man. Those riots... Look I'm not with that. But damn did those officers get charged quick lol. Can't even argue that. Which never happened before.

The people are angry and tired. It's ridiculous and hurts me to see where we are today.

Me either. But I understand the anger and why some did it. The looting. Nah.. that's just selfish.
