Didn’t they wear the arrow logo with some dark burgundy alternates around the mid 2000s? I recall from playing with WSH on NFL 2K5. I love their jerseys as it is, but that was my favorite.

Yes, it right around that time. I believe Patrick Ramsey was the savoir quarterback and Steve Spurrier was the HC.

I know it's unlikely, but given the growing attention paid to things like statues, names, logos of things that are deemed offensive, will we finally get Washington to change their look?

At the very least, a logo change? I've seen many concepts revolving around their old arrow with a feather logo.

                Short answer, no.

Snyder is an idiot and bullish about the fact that the name and logo are "tradition." Somehow he believes a slur & image of a native person is honoring of them.

When is it proven fact that the individual the team is "named after" is a draft dodger, who had no ancestry to a native tribe (used it to skip services), George Marshall was a known bigot and the name was given because the "similarity" to Red Sox.

Remember the nonsensical PR campaign he & Chris Cooley went on a few years ago? I lost all respect for Cooley & already had none for Snyder.

There is a reason why he's the worst owner in the NFL. Yes, worse than Kroenke, Davis, Spanos, the Brown family & Ford family (apologize to any fanbases).

Let's not forget the team was originally called the Boston Braves (following the tradition of football teams and baseball teams sharing names i.e. New York Giants and St. Louis Cardinals), and they played at Braves Field. The next season they started playing in Fenway Park and that was when the name was shifted to align with the Red Sox.

Not the logo, but a name change indeed. You asked, and they listened! At least it's a start.

Washington Redskins Change Their Name To The D.C. Redskins

WASHINGTON—Following an outpouring of criticism from across the country, the Washington Redskins announced Wednesday that they are officially changing the team’s name to the D.C. Redskins. “We’ve heard the concerns of many people who have been hurt or offended by the team’s previous name, and I’m happy to say we’ve now rectified the situation once and for all,” said franchise owner Dan Snyder, adding that “Washington Redskins” will be replaced with “D.C. Redskins” on all team logos, uniforms, and apparel. “It was a difficult decision—and one that, frankly, I’m a little embarrassed took me so long to make. So hopefully we can now put this issue to bed and start cheering on our D.C. Redskins.” In light of Snyder’s decision, Cleveland Indians owner Larry Dolan told reporters he will change the feather in Chief Wahoo’s headdress from red to a “more appropriate” shade of red.

JUST IN: @FedEx has asked the Washington @Redskins to change its name. Here is the statement:

“We have communicated to the team in Washington our request that they change the team name.“
It is significant since FedEx has naming rights throughout 2025 and official delivery sponsor of NFL

I heard that if they want to build a new stadium, they won't be allowed to on the old RFK grounds unless there's a name change.

I really don't know why they wouldn't want to just change the name. Good PR AND Marketing.

                            New merch all around.

Any contenders for names? I've always been in favour of ones like Washington Senators. You have the Nats in baseball and Caps in hockey, why not Sens for football? Even the NBA team I heard people wanted that renamed too, and their current look has nothing to do with their name, but it's the best look they've ever had. Senators for sure should be a name for one of those 2 teams, and football seems like the one which will get the name change first.

Pass on any name that is already taken or inspired by a Canadian team, no Senators, no Americans, no Bald Eagles (or would it be Apple Pies).
