Watson is a creeper with a fetish, obviously. I wouldn't want him on my team. I'll never root for him. But the NFL has employed far worse than this guy. (Leonard Little, Donte Stallworth, Roethlisberger.. Ray Lewis..)
While some of them knew what they were getting into, others were real, trained, and actually had jobs. Once he ran out of women in Houston, then he started flying them in and that's where the gray area pops up.

Individually there isn't much in most of the cases, mostly just some indecent exposure or something. There are some more serious ones but really hard to prove criminally. The pattern shows just how bad this is and how little he views women.

Yes he was propositioning them but he took it further by exposing himself and doing other things. That is no where near the same as a bar unless you frequent bars where you just take it out and ask if they like what they see.

Sure there have been worse people in the league but those issues were also 1 time things. This is bad enough to give him 2-3 games per woman. It's also a different time and the media and PR will take huge hits if this is just brushed under the rug like in the past.

I remember Big Ben got a (revised) four game suspension for just the accusation (no criminal charges) in his rape allegation issue. Deshaun has settled with 20 women, still has the 4 other women going full steam ahead and then however many accusations to come. Still, let's just go with the 20 women settled with as the baseline because that's closest to the Big Ben scenario. 4x20=80. 80 games should be the precedent, then?

Also, though, it's a lady judge, it's possibly the most emotional time for a lot of women feeling the judicial system is a failure and the NFL is barely a few years into having women in major roles on and off the field (and the NFL hasn't made a statement on RvW yet). It feels like they are either about to try and win some mega brownie points by doling a historic punishment, or they are going to epic fail, then probably do nothing to Snyder, either and it'll be major throat punch to the league compared to any black eyes they've dealt with before.

Opinions on the facts as I know them, of course. I'll sit back and watch like everyone else.

She has a background in contract law, trademark, or something like that. That's a very dry area, so who knows what she does with this. I'm guessing less than 1 year and/or time served from last year. There is no way the Browns paid that much money without knowing what the league would do.

you might be giving Cleveland mgmt. too much credit

not to pick on the Browns too much, every league in every sport always has 2-3 teams w/ mgmt. like such as the Browns lol

Yeah combined with sitting out last year, I could see a year suspension being the max they’ll go. And judging by how they structured his new contract with Cleveland, I think Watson and his reps think this season could be a wash.

If they’re going to be doing multi-season suspensions, just kick him out of the league altogether. I don’t see that happening.

My understanding is that his contract will toll if he is suspended for the entire season this year. Essentially that means this year does not count on his contract and Year 1 of his deal would be 2023.

That would mean he gets paid no salary in 2022 and the $1M first year of his deal that he built in to protect against suspension would be paid if he plays in 2023.

While the above scenario hurts Watson a little, it helps Cleveland a little in that they get to push his big Cap hits back by a year.

Kind of, but it also faceplants a whole season in the middle of their roster prime.
Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.

Yes but I think that's a given at this point. I can't imagine he'll play enough in 2022 to save this year.

Goodell has confirmed that after this season that Sunday Ticket will end up on a streaming service per The Athletic.

Apple, Disney and Amazon are waiting for the league’s decision, which will be made this fall.

I'm really curious to see how this ends up working. I often can't watch games live and like to not only play all seven hours of NFL RedZone back in full, but if there are premier games I want to watch I will even switch back and forth between those recordings.

For example, if the Buccaneers are playing, I will watch that game up until a big moment happens that RedZone would likely showcase (touchdown, turnover, etc.), then I'll switch and watch everything on RedZone leading up to that that is not from the Bucs game, then I'll go back to that game. This is something I can very, very easily do with my DirecTV DVR recordings. This is also why I am always so behind on games for the week and watch football basically up through Wednesday (since I tend to watch the SNF and MNF games in full as well, but wait until I finish the earlier Sunday games).

I'll enjoy Sunday Ticket properly for at least one more year. After that is so very uncertain how things pan out, but I hope it takes what I stated into account somehow.

What you describe may be difficult to do going forward, but I'm looking forward to how the winning service innovates on our ability to consume this content. Perhaps there could be something like you describe, allowing us to flip between synchronized streams in some form.

Not to Heinz though, since they didn't pony up the dough.

I miss past memorable names but am not stubborn to them, so long as I can recall what the new names are.

For example, Miller Park is now American Family Field, I believe? I don't know that for sure, so I accidentally call it Miller Park time to time. But Pacific Bell Park (best name for it) turned to SBC Park, AT&T Park, and is now Oracle Park. Being a Giants fan I have no problem switching from one to the other with ease.

I just have to learn how to pronounce this new name is all.
