Former 49ers receiver Dwight Clark, best known for The Catch, has died after a battle with ALS.

When I was a kid, I spent countless hours trying to recreate The Catch with my best friend Matt. I was always Joe and Matt was always Dwight.

    This one hurts.

Yup...I just saw that. I knew he had been diagnosed with ALS, but that seemed faster than I anticipated. Even though the catch was before my time, he was still playing when I started watching pro-football and in my mind he was a legend (I saw the highlight so many times). RIP...

The '82 AFC & NFC Championship games were the first 2 NFL games I ever watched.
What an introduction to pro football.
Spent many days in my youth pretending to be Clark, Cris Collinsworth & Steve Largent.
        RIP Mr. Clark.

I was there, section 42 (corner of other side of the endzone). He and Joe started the dynasty with that amazing play. RIP DC 87.

Good to hear in the press conference he is still fighting and trying to get back. He seems like he is in a good place mentally. Wish him the best.

There is video of him walking, with a cane, to the podium in the link below. I must say, he looks so much better than he did at the draft.

Speaking to the mass media for the first time since suffering his season-ending spine injury last year, Ryan Shazier made one thing very clear. He wants to play football again. Holding a press conference to thank many for their support, from fans, local media, and his doctors/therapists, the first question he was asked was if […]

After campaigning so hard to make the Hall, Terrell Owens is going full T.O. and has decided to not attend the induction ceremony.

Said he'll be celebrating in his own way at a location TBD. Legend.

Yep. And of course losers in the media are gonna hate on him, because that's what they do.

On the one hand, I can see T.O.'s point but sheesh, the guy is not the only one that had to wait far too long to become a HOFer. I'm sure he feels justified right now but 30 years from now he'll regret it. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and moment and he'll never get to have it again.

Pretty sure, like the people who decide to stay home with their families when getting drafted in Rd 1 instead of going to the draft, he won’t regret it if he’s doing what he prefers.

I’m just sad we miss out on whatever TO speech we would’ve gotten. Other than that, good for him.

He should have his own induction speech that he gives while doing situps in his driveway.

Serious question because it's been a busy day for me and I'll I saw was his statement that he isn't going, but, what IS his point?

Like, is he protesting something or does he just not want to go?

I'm cool with whatever and am just more curious at this point.

He said he’d give a statement about the “where he’ll be” and I assume that will involve the why.

I read somewhere that he's planning to hold an event near the HOF where he can charge a cover fee for people to see him.

If that's the case than it's all a $$$$ grab.
