ICYMI: While discussions are at an early stage, an NFL owner told @FOS
that creating a four-team European division via expansion is something that is under consideration. The expansion fee for each team would be in the $3B-$5B range.
I'm no football purist, but hell no.Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
I'm more concerned about fielding 4 more teams worth of talent than I am the time zone stuff. Then there's the schedule, the decrease in the salary cap if revenue doesn't increase to reflect 4 more teams getting a split of the same income, etc.
Jet lag is way down the list of concerns w/ that kind of change.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
I'm against European expansion for the NFL, just to make that clear.
I am curious, however, about what you guys would think about a Super Bowl being played in, say London or Barcelona.
I'm just putting it out there to see what might be said. I can easily think of some pros and cons, but I'm curious as to your thoughts.

I would say highly unlikely because that would push the Super Bowl up to the 1pm window and I doubt they would be willing to do that because of the scope of that game.
Me Personally? I don’t really care where it’s played so wouldn’t bother me and I think the teams would love spending a few weeks over there.Comment

I am strongly against. One of the biggest claims during this rush of publicly funded stadiums (garbage IMO) is that the city would have the payoff of hosting a Super Bowl. Taking *that* away makes it a total non-starter for me before we discuss timezones or any other logistical hurdles. Sending the Pro Bowl overseas could be fine.Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
NFL doesn't need expansion or relocation. They're the one league out of the big 4 I can say that about.Comment

Apparently Football Outsiders' writers are being stiffed on pay, which explains why their content has slowed to a crawl.
