We need to pump the brakes on changing something because it offends, especially Goodell's comment about 'even one person'. Seriously, think of the ramifications...I'm not saying that's the case in the Redskin name issue, but just overall we can't go there.

His article becomes completely irrelevant to me when he says the University of Our Lady of the Lake (Notre Dame's full name in English) was founded by the Irish. The name is in French which should be a big hint at where the founder was from.

The Fighting Irish name basically came from a newspaper and even they were wary of it at first.

I wish I could say why I think some of the "I'm offended" nonsense is just that, but I've been hit with infractions for a very similar topic.

You only have one warning and it was for discussing the Zimmerman trial. No need to bring that up here nor have you received any infractions....

            This is so weird.

Someone apparently dug up footage of a referee TWICE telling a Silverdome crowd that they were too loud and they needed to be quiet and let the Jets get a play off, and if they didn't the Lions would be charged a timeout.

That used to happen in college quite a bit, too.

That's because it used to be a rule. Teams could be penalized if their crowds were too loud.

Sickening story involving Adrian Peterson's 2-year-old son. Apparently, his son's mother's boyfriend has beaten his son and he is in critical condition.

                    What a ****ing scumbag.

Adrian Peterson's 2 year old son was attacked by the mother's boyfriend.

The child was found unresponsive when first responders arrived and apparently the child has severe head injuries.

As the father of a 2 year old I can't say that I wouldn't be in jail right now because of what I'd do to the person who did that to my son.

If I were Peterson, I'd already have my lawyers working on filing for full custody. Can't have my son with a woman who brings scum like this into my son's life. I don't even have kids, and I'm angry. I can't even imagine how he feels.

Jesus, that's awful. Although the good news is that he's back with the team, I would imagine that means his son is doing better, like Pete said.

How anyone could do that to a 2 year old is just beyond me. Sickening.

I hope Adrian gets his affairs in order and is able to figure out a plan to ensure his child's safety in the future, family over football. Couldn't imagine the kid going back into the mother's custody after this.

Certainly hope his son is doing better.

edit: Adrian's going to address the media after practice today.
