Re: NFL Off Topic
It came out from Philly now about whenever McNabb was there. I'll see if I can find the other that I thought was from Tampa Bay or Cleveland (it was a couple of days ago that it was reported on ESPN).--
Have you ever wanted to coach or play basketball at the next level, but something prevented you from achieving that dream? Fret no more. Ask me about SimWorld Hoops to see how you can create your virtual self, and follow your path from the prep-level to the pros.

If you want to go further, I’ve even seen a teammate piss on another teammate. They think it’s funny. They are having a conversation and the whole time one guy is peeing on him and the other doesn’t even know.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: NFL Off Topic
There's a Foxsports story where Adrian Peterson has said he hears things crazier than the "N" word in locker rooms etc etc. He kinda justifies it in his talking about it too which is a bit disheartening. He did admit that most people would think that it's pretty crazy stuff.
Personally to me, There's a line between censoring yourself with friends and having a personal code of ethics in the workplace. If you're making threats and being a complete A-hole like Incognito has reportedly been than that goes WAY beyond "joking with friends" and even if that is friendship than man, that's one messed up work environment. There's got to be a line between hazing/locker room antics and outright disgusting behavior IMO.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Are we a weird, ****ed up group because we say things like this to each other even though we ALL know that it's in a joking context and that we're not going get offended at all by it?#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Imagine not being able to joke around with those you consider your friends because one of them will take things to heart whenever its obvious to everyone else it was a joke. Whether this is a job, or your hanging out with a bunch of friends, there's no need for people to get all up and arms about it.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Re: NFL Off Topic
There's obviously a difference between calling your friends MFers who you've known your whole life and Incognito dropping derogatory N bombs and threatening to kill a second year offensive lineman who obviously didn't ask for or feel comfortable with that kind of treatment.

I don't think people are saying this is OK more so that it's just nothing new. I feel like if you've been in a locker room, you've seen/heard all of this. I've seen a guy piss on another guy's pads.
Idk, I thought this bullying crap was exactly that when all of a sudden bullying became this huge attention grabber in America.

Re: NFL Off Topic
I think, clearly just by some of the miscommunication and difference of opinion in this thread, that part of the problem is the ability to identify what is acceptable and what is bullying, and the proper context for things.
My friends and I say **** to each other that we know better than to say to some random person or new acquaintance. Time and a place. And as is often the case, the workplace is not the place. You better know someone like a brother and know exactly how they'll react if your gonna say certain things to them.

Dayman, you made it sound regardless of who does it, then that person is the worst human being in the world. Which is why I asked if folks were speaking on this Martin nonsense or just speaking in general, which was what my post was aimed at.
The pissing, absolutely. Everything else you've said, I'm sorry man, my friends have told each other to "kill yourself" or "I'll kill you". I've also had friends let people say certain words.

This is a Culture/Society issue that goes well beyond an NFL Locker Room that has been around for years and years and will continue to be around for years and years.#RespectTheCultureComment

This is the whole issue. Many people blow off the notion that someone could be offended by these things, because it doesn't offend them in their situation. Men, in general, suck at communication and talking about emotions and feelings, and would rather go with the 'status quo' than talk about how something is truly affecting them.Last edited by Jr.; 11-21-2013, 05:01 PM.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
I don't think Dayman has any problems with what friends do and say to each other. There's been a rapport established in those relationships that will dictate what is acceptable behavior and what is not. That acceptable behavior will obviously be different than the relationship someone will have with their parents or a boss.
I think the problem arises when people who do not want to participate in this "locker room culture" are subjected to it regardless. It seems pretty obvious to me that the Miami situation was more than just locker room shenanigans.
